I got my first ever sewing machine yesterday as an early birthday present and the first thing I make is a sock monkey for my boyfriend's birthday next month! I used the tutorial on Craftbits.

Pictures!

(The camera makes it look different colours because of the flash >.<)

His ears are a little wonkey and my hand stitching on bits wasn't very good, but it is complete! Cheesy I'm thinking about giving him some sort of clothing... perhaps just one article though since I don't trust my skills just yet. Any ideas what he might suit?

I don't think so. I only remembered about the contest when I was finished, so I didn't know the requirements for the contest. I don't think I'll make another to enter, it's too much hard work. Tongue Although I do have some old rainbow socks... Cheesy

I like that idea! I won't be off my sewing machine for a few days now!  Grin

After showing the monkey to my (older) brother he and his friend want me to make a Hitler sock monkey... don't ask me why... Huh

I think yours looks great. I love how it has nice, long limbs and the colors of the stripes look awesome! I am going to try another sock monkey this weekend and see how it goes.

Can you provide the URL to the tutorial you used? I want to make these with my Group Home clients.
