Hi, this is the first doiley that I've had the pleasure of crocheting.  It was fun and not too hard.  I made it for my mom for her birthday. My mom is wild about doilies. I'm working on a second one, different pattern.

Here's where I got the pattern:

That is really pretty!  I have never really worked with the smaller threads, perhaps I should try!  Smiley

that's awesome.. i tried to make a doiley once, but due to lack of step by step pictures i have a hard time understanding crochet patterns, because i've never actually learned how to crochet. maybe soon i'll go bug my mom and make her show me.
but your doiley kicks booty. i'm jealous.

The pattern wasn't too hard because the instruction were pretty clear.  But it wasn't that easy either.  Cheesy My mom absolutely loved it. It's a scanned picture so you can't see the detail very well.  Sad Need to get a digital.

hmm, making a rug from a doily pattern.  That would be very interesting.

Thanks for all the praise, now I feel so special!!  Grin

No, I'm not from New England, why?  I'm from Canada!!!  Cool Yeah, I know that makes me way cooler. Wink

using 'wicked' to mean very is a typically new england slang. Smiley

I love the doily.  let's reclaim those old "grandma" styles.

a tip for those of you who think you can't crochet one of those mean doilies: you can.  just follow the directions (even and especially when you think they are whack.

and "wicked" isn't about the New England, it's about the New Zealand.  word!
