My brother's gf is having a baby shower next month, so I called her up to ask if she had anything special she planned to wear and she said no, so I told her I would make her something.  She also mentioned needing something comfortable to wear to festivals when it's hot out, and she's late in the pregnancy. So this is what I came up with.  It ties behind the neck and the back.

I like your cool top.  I've been looking at different things for my sister.  She's five months along and doesn't even show it. I wish I was tall and skinny like she is. Cry Any way, I like your idea.  I might use it.

The recipient of this shirt is a twig stuck to a basketball.  (shes very petite)  Your sister will start to show too.

I really like the blue/green color and design, but I'm not as wild about the plaid (just personal taste, but I think the effect with the top is VERY cool and original).  Did you use a pattern, or make up as you went along?  I'm in dire need of cute maternity tops myself, and am in love with your design- so hot!

The plaid was just extra fabric I had laying around. If I had something more seasonal I would have used that.

I didn't use a pattern, I made it up myself. I'll make a tute! It's so easy.

well, since you mentioned a tute, I would love one!  I think the top is great and, having been through one pregnancy and hoping for another soon, I can tell you that it looks like it would fit the bill (belly).
(and I like the plaid, makes it funky and original)

(did I just use the word 'funky?'  Whats wrong with me?)

Thank you so much for the tut!  It really DOES look easy... searching through fabric stash...  I'll try making this in the next few days and let you know how it turns out.  Thanks again!!   Grin
