From Boo Boo to Beautiful

This purse started out and was going along just fine.  Then, the big boo boo happened.

I scrambled, I cried, I threw fits, I screamed, I cried, I gave up, I started again, I tried and I tried to figure out what to do and how to fix it.

Then, I asked Craftsters for help!

In the end, I think I just wanted the original design that was in my head when I started the silly purse.

I pulled out my very last bit of vinyl...and with a little shaping here and a little trimming there...I might - yes, I just might be able to pull it off!

Of course, I had to use the same straps that were already on the other purse...but there was just barely enough vinyl fabric to start a whole new purse.

Here is the final and complete purse.  I was pleased, I only lost about 1/2 inch with the new vinyl.

I have been reading and following your original thread and all I have to say is, you are indeed a professional as you pulled it off under pressure and a deadline!!

I was almost at the point where I thought I was going to have to let her know that it couldn't be fixed. 

She actually received it today and was super thrilled with her new purse!  I let out the biggest sigh of relief when I found out.  I might even get a new order out of it (her babysitter has been eyeing my purses for awhile now).

The other one is kinda scrapped.  I made an attempt to sew a brown ribbon all the way around the vinyl.  It just looked weird to me....

I had to use the vinyl straps on the new bag - and I ended up using the same liner.  So, I guess you could say that I have a halfway scrapped purse sitting in my room.  Ummmm....well, it actually became part of a collection.
