I'm experimenting with new designs to paint on purses and bags for my upcoming etsy shop. I have ideas of using animals that are less common in designs lately and also incorporating other elements for embellishing.  This was my first purse in the series, and its got me excited to do more. I would appreciate your comments on it. Smiley

This is "Jane". Inspired by Jane Goodall and her work with chimpanzees. The chimp face is handpainted in acrylics (not stenciled). The leaves are pieces of vintage polyester fabric in various textures and patterns. The handbag its self is canvas with bamboo handles.

Thank you for looking!

Wow.  That is really awesome.  The chimp looks great, and I love the texture of the leaves.  Very cool.

I am an apologist for the spiders.

Just treat me no differently than you would the Tarantula Queen.

All hand painted? That's amazing. My hand always shakes when I try to paint by hand.
I agree, that bag is very unique. Wouldn't find that in any ordinary store.

Good luck with your etsy shop!

soooo cute!  I love it!  The chimp graphic is impressive.  It's difficult for me to paint on unprimed fabric,  usually cop out and use a stencil, though you can really get better detail this way.
