missroo--i love your bumble bee!!!!  how cute!

beeosh--that's kinda what my friend's mom had only hers was a tree!  i think they found condoms in clear wrappers, or maybe they re-wrapped them??  

artfart--how can you keep your condom art forever?  these will rot in time.  i assume there is someway to perserving condoms (hmmm, that's almost a joke in itself!!)??  

you know, that's one of the big probs in museums today.  all the contemporary art is rotting & falling apart.  they can't figure our ways to keeping it.  some of the artists say that's just the way it's meant to be--the idea of it rotting is art in itself!  i read this in the wallstreet journal (ha!  not mine, of course.  my hubs!)

my only fear is that they may eventually deteriorate as they dry out. you should try and find a creative way to preserve them!

this all reminds me of a joke...

two little old ladies, mavis and ethel, are standing at the bus stop having a smoke and a chat. suddenly, it starts to rain. ethel pulls out a small plastic tube and pops it over her cigarette to keep it dry.

"what a brilliant idea!" exclaims mavis, "what is it?"
"it's a condom with one end cut off," ethel smiles, proud at her ingenuity.

mavis is impressed, so quickly heads to the nearest shop.
"one pack of condoms please, young man," she asks, approaching the counter. the young man is shocked but manages to keep a straight face.
"what size, madam?" he asks.

mavis thinks for a second, then answers,
"one big enough to fit a Camel"

these aren't really all that crafty:

1. donate them.  I am thinking non-religious homeless shelters, but I am sure there are other places that could use them.

2. gift them to a friend who you know is getting lucky.  I see a card the says "Have a very, VERY Merry Xmas!"

3.  what I thought of immediately... gigantic, awesome water balloons, but you might want to wait for summer on that one!

Perhaps the world's only bumblebee made with condom wings...  






I ended up making a wire form for the wings and stretching the condom over that. Then I tied it in place with some additional wire.



With those pieces, you could make a flower (my original intent), a butterfly, or other winged creatures. It would look really cool with colored condoms.

I did find another use for condoms along the way -- If you pour rice into them, they make a nice stress reliever ball type things.
