Ooh, yours is lovely. I saw it on Dress a Day, too, and it's the next on my list of projects to make. I just have to find two prints I like together. I may end up putting a zipper in it, too, I don't like my dresses too billowy.

I really like your dress, especially your choice of fabric! It reminds me of this anthropologie dress, but I like your short sleeves a lot better. It looks fun to wear.

Gorgeous dress - you did great work!  I'm such a sucker for anything Asian-inspired- I might have to give this dress a try soon.  Again, lovely job!!!   Grin

That's the pattern I picked out for my homecoming dress next year! (Only mine will be floor-length with an extra-big and long bow.) Wow, yours turned out so nicely...It gives me confidence in my choice. Cheesy Good work!

wow, i LOVE that dress!  i was just cruising through this forum looking for dress ideas, since i had this nutty idea that i might sew my own bridesmaid dresses (despite not having sewn anything more complicated than a hem in years) and i am super inspired by this one!  i think it would be such a cute bridesmaid dress in 2 different floral fabrics.
i saw that the pattern does seem gigantic for its sizes, is that just because it is supposed to have a lot of gathering?  and how did you decide how much to go down in size?

Thanks for all the lovely compliments!
Tertarossa: I'm not sure why they put that much ease in it.  It's supposed to be loose and flowey, but I was scared it would hit Muumuu territory.  To figure out what size I wanted I took the smallest size that gave me at least 3" of ease at the waist.  THe bust and the hip had more ease than the waist on me.  I probably could have gone up a size *shrug*.  I'm more used to knitting ease, which can easily be a negative number.

It was a very straitforward dress to make.  The instructions are very detailed and the pieces fit well together.  The only tricky part was the curved front yoke thing.

I was actually thinking about this pattern.  I would love to see a picture of you wearing it to see how it looks on.  The dress and fabric are great
