I live in massachusetts and the temperature is definately rising here; but that does not cease the intense chocolate cravings I get.

I am in the process of becoming fully vegan and I was looking for a good brownie recipe and i found this one. Suddenly, the sediment occurred to me that these can be frozen instead of baked (but understand my point of view, i make the brownies for the batter- the baked product is just an afterthought) because they lack eggs or other perishables. Plus, they are amazing on a hot day (and quite messy too). Oh, they can be baked too and be amazing (25 minutes at 350). The product, a tear inducing thing of vegan bliss as well as beauty...

Frozen Vegan Orgasm
1  cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2  cup maple syrup
1  teaspoon vanilla
3/4  cup unbleached white flour
1/3  cup cocoa powder
2  teaspoons baking powder
1/2  teaspoon baking soda
1/2  teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup barley sweetened chocolate chips (if you dare...)

Optional Raspberry Afterglow

around 3/4 of a cup of frozen raspberries
1 Tablespoon of maple syrup
1/2 cup of water or orange juice

-Preheat oven to 300-350 degrees

-Mix applesauce, maple syrup, and vanilla in a medium bowl. In another bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon together.

-Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the applesauce mixture. Mix until just combined. Gently fold in chocolate chips, if you so desire to enter a new realm of richness.

- Bake for 2-3 minutes until a light layer of bake-ness forms around the edges

-Take out these browines and put them in the freezer for at least 3 hours

-(if you are making the afterglow) Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until sorbet-like consistency. Spread onto the frozen orgasms and freeze for another hour.

-Cut with a wet/warm knife into 9-16 squares

*Each square (for a nine square batch)- only 100 calories (110 with the afterglow) (without chocolate chips)!!! 4 calories from fat!!! 0.6 grams of fat!!! 1.9 grams of protein!!!*

All the more reasons to chocolate-fy your summer. I swear I had a full-on orgasm the first time i tried a bar.

Oh... wow. That sounds damn good. I love versatile recipes, I much prefer cold brownies to warm anyways.
