Dia dhaoibh! (Hello all!)

Well I'd been watching this gorgeous dress on ebay for over a week and determined to win it, I put in a bid with about a minute to spare and my computer decided to freeze up!! So it didn't even register my bid  Cry

Soo disappointed, so I've decided to try and create my own version of the dress...The thing is I've never made an article of clothing from scratch before so I'm not really sure how to start! If all else fails I was thinking of trying to buy a plain dress and customise it. But I'd rather make it myself if possible.

So anyway if anybody has any ideas for patterns, tips, etc, I'd be really happy to hear from you!! I'm still in a period of depression after the ebay incident...

All the best
Lizzy xx

I'm a beginner too. What I would suggest is see if you can find a pattern that is like the dress.  Go to the fabric store and look through the books or look on-line.  Then you can make it in fabrics like that dress.

Maybe someone else will have a better idea but that is what I would do.  I'm not very confident when it comes to my sewing yet and I feel better with a pattern.
