I saw all of the ADORABLE Mary Jane's out of converses on here, and I have the perfect pair for mary janes, but they are red plaid wool. They stopped making those babies in the 80's and if I botched them, I'd never forgive myself.

So I thought I'd take a gamble and botch some men's dress shoes from the thrift store (I wear a size 5 in men's, so I'm not sure who turned those bad boys in)

Originally- cute but bad on the feet.

And then...

A little rough around the edges, I know, but I'm fixing that later...Too much work for right now Smiley

Those are great!! Wow seriously!  What did you use to cut them, just an x-acto knife?  I want to try that, because I have big feet and I can never find cute shoes.  Those are so lovely!  Be sure to post pctures when they're done. Smiley

those look great! i especially like how you cut around the shape of the line around the toe.( if that makes sense)

Look at me, I'm on TV, it makes up for the shortcomings of being poor. Now I'm in a million pieces picked up for deliberation by the people listening at home, by the people watching on the telly...

Yes, it was done with an exacto knife at about 3 am, so its kind of rough. I'm honestly not sure how I'm going to finish them yet, so I'm open to any suggestions.

oh I love these what a great idea! hmm...around the edges, maybe just file them a bit, or put some bias tape around the tops and use some glue to attach it?

Nice.  Smiley

How are you going to fix the edges? (Just asking because you said you were going to.)
