its lovely and the colors are great!  I am working on a rug using the same idea.  Its a LONG project, like its under my couch and I pull it out every six months or so.

How long were the strips of fabric that you tied together?  and how wide did you cut them?

It's absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to make a rug using the same technique!

Thanks so much, all of you. I only worked on it for a few days. 3 or 4 at most.
I cut my strips of fabric about 2-2.5 cm. wide. Length isn't really an issue.

From what I can recall, I did this on US11 needles, although bigger ones probably would have been more appropriate (I used the largest needles I had at the time).
