I'm learning how to crochet (and probably knit too) because you people can make such cool things.  does anyone have any easy projects for a newbie in the crocheting world?

This isn't the exact pattern, mind you, but it is almost exactly like the first crochet pattern my Grandma taught me how to make after she taught me how to make a chain.  I don't knit well.  I think I'm just over-analyzing the whole knitting process or something.  Anyway . . . here ya' go!  Roll Eyes

Good luck!

Also, a scarf might be good.  There's a really easy one here:

You could probably check these:

www.crochetpatternc entral.com
http://home.inreach.com/marthac/links.html
http://www.kaleidesigns.com/crochet/

They have some good beginner patterns.  Sorry!  I just hated to leave you hanging with that one little potholder pattern. Grin
