really, it's just two pieces of fabric sewn together with a button to close it with. i couldn't get any good pictures of the waistband, unfortunately. i didn't want to line the skirt, so i've decided to only wear it over jeans since it's see-through. and i haven't hemmed the bottom yet, as you may have noticed.  Roll Eyes here it is! comments appreciated.

thanks, you guys. i did have one problem, though. my waist was too big, and i didn't know how to fix it. i mean, my hips will hold the skirt up no problem, but it's a little irritating. does anyone know how to fix that problem?

Oh my god, are the penguins fishing?!!?? That is so cute!!!!!!!!!! Great skirt,  I looove it!

Oh, and if the waist is too big you could just take it in by sewing the sides in more. Or you could fold over the top of the waist band about an inch, sew it down, and string through a drawstring. Or you could even sew elastic right onto the reverse side of the fabric, which would look goofy and unprofessional, but would work I imagine. Hehe.
