Pitchfork DEPART-ment was awesome for me. That was by-far the best I've ever done at a DEPART-ment. I would have stayed there the whole weekend and sold stuff, if only it hadn't been so hot!

I sold three bags... but I wasn't even sure if I'd sell any, so I guess that was good!  What were you selling, and how'd it go?

I'm a glass artist, I do lampworking, mainly. But, for this show, I decided to play to the market. I made stained glass pendants, gel transfers, leather wrist cuffs, cell phone charms, etc. Most of my regular work is too expensive for folks at a music festival to consider, so I think my strategy worked out well.

I wish there were more affordable outlets to sell my work at. I simply cannot afford the table fees at most of the craft fairs. When I was in London, I went to Camden and a few other "market" areas. I was so inspired by the "boot" sales, I really wanted to try and do something like that here. You pull up your car to a lot or field and open your trunk and sell out of there. So clever, no table rental, easy clean up. Sadly, the city fees would probably be exhorbitant to rent a parking lot for this sort of event.
