I made these last year for Dixie_Terror's brother.  He was having a halloween wedding with a Day of the Dead theme.  I had a great time with them and want to make some more.  I used crumpled aluminum foil for the body armature and made a hole in the base of them that was the same diameter as a wooden dowel.  The dowel was glued in with plain white glue after they were baked so they could be secured into the wedding cake top.  The dowel could then be removed afterwards so they could be keepsakes.

Now she can't do without it. Twenty balls of wool a day, sometimes. If she can't get the wool she gets violent. What can we do about it?"

I wish I had a picture of the finished cake.  Dixie never got around to sending it out to me.  Maybe she'll surprise me one day.  I have a whole portfolio of cakes I've done and I'd like to start one of cake toppers.
