my youth group is doing a HUGE event this summer and the part i'm working on is raising money for AIDS orphans in Africa. what i need are some "cool" but relatively inexpensive to make idea for crafts to sell as part of the fund raiser. the target audience is mostly teens and families with an emphasis on "skater" style because the event is these skater guys coming to our church to skate and preach the gospel and stuff. any ideas would be greatly aprieciated!!!

Maybe knit some armbands? The Stitch 'n Bitch books have some good patterns, one with a star or the word "geek" on it (you could probably change this to suit your needs), and one with a beaded skull or broken heart. They would be good if you find cheapish yarn, because they don't take that long to make. Hope that helps Grin

You could make some duct tape wrist cuffs. They're pretty easy to make. I've made ones like:

My friends really like them, and they're teens. Let me know if you want to do these and want help.

I don't cause commotions; I am one.

I didn't recognize you without the handcuffs.

First, I must say, I love what you're doing! Hooray for being involved!

I imagine you want things that are easy and cheap to make, so this is def the right place to look for ideas. Most of these items can be found in any household. You could do a drive for supplies through your church. Some things that I've come across that may work are:

Kool Aid/Pouch purses, wallets, belts http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=36388.0
Pop/Soda Tab belts
Duct Tape Wallets and Purses
Record Bowls
Record Earring Holders (I made one for me 21 year old SIL and she adored it)
CD bowls
"Computer" Earrings

Hope this helps. I'm using crappy dial up in a hotel room right now or I'd look up a bunch of links for you. It won't let me do much fo anything right now. (sorry!) Good luck!!
