as a result of my mom's weirdness, i ended up with two pairs of the same pants. i decided to turn one pair into a skirt. i like how it turned out, but i feel like it needs something else. i just can't decide what. i have lace, ribbon, fabric paint, felt, and tons of random fabric pieces on hand, but i can't decide what to do... any suggestions? thanks kids.

You could topstich ribbon (groisgrain, maybe) to the waist and make a fake belt. Or highlight the weird side seams (because it was made from a pair of pants, not that you did anything weird). Maybe topstich ribbon around the seams, apply fabric paint, or sew a button or something similar to the top of the  arc that the side seams make. Cute skirt, by the way.

I would say put contrasting piping (or ribbon, lace, etc.) 2 or 3 inches from the top or bottom... or both.  Or you could cut an asemetrical hem or add a ruffle along the bottom.

i'd actually like to do piping, but i am having some trouble figuring it out. i am supposed to be learning to do it so i can make my mom some pillows to match her new couch, so maybe i can "practice" on this skirt.
