Cute  Cheesy ... and a very neat way to make a hive! Will remember that.

The timing of your post is funny too because I watched Kim Korringa demo her bumblebee cane (and ladybug) night before last, and I've been thinking about it a lot since then!  (here's a photo but the 3-D effect from the Skinner blends is much more pronounced in person ...in addition to single earrings, etc., she sometimes reduces them down so tiny that they fit on the flowers-in-a-pot pins she makes  Shocked.

Well, it's kinda hard to tell on that one.

Kim often puts different canes together, reduces, cuts a thick slice, then adds a few more slices from other canes on top of it so they're a little bit dimensional in areas
...sometimes she puts all the canes together, then reduces (like this one:
http://www.kimcreates.com/products/pins/patchheartpin.htm )
....and sometimes she adds slices from separate canes like ears or a face or something else that sticks up a lot, only when she's assembling individual slices on a background (probably like this one:
http://www.kimcreates.com/products/pins/patchcatpin.htm)

(Kim does do a lot of "odd-shaped" canes, whereas most caners fill in around the main image of a cane with background color (or with translucent clay) to make the canes round or square (or triangular, etc.) and therefore easier to reduce.   Kim has her own methods of reducing though that she's developed over the years so she can do those odd-shaped canes.

Many clayers do make very complex canes though, and do them all in one cane.  Clear as mud, huh?
