Swap name: The X-Men Swap
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: quincy134
Sign-up date range: June 10th-June 23rd 2006
Date to send items by: July 15th 2006

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): No

Non-U.S. participants allowed? Yes

All ages allowed? Or 18+? All ages, but please get your parents' permission if you're under 15 and/or you don't have a way of getting to the post office yourself.

Organizer is aware of current list of "suspended traders"
list and will not allow those members to participate: YES

Organizer meets the 4 conditions for swapping and will make sure that every participant meets these conditions: YES.  Please remember that if you haven't participated in a swap before, you can only participate in one until you get positive feedback.

Details of swap:
Calling all X-Men fans!  With the release of the 3rd movie, I'm sure there are craftsters just iching to express their X-Men love.  Have a secret or not so secret love for Wolverine, Nightcrawler, or Beast?  This is the place for you.  Totes, t-shirts, crazy stuffies, nerdy housewares, the list of possibilites goes on and on.  The swap was initially proposed in reference to the movies, but fans of the comics are also welcome (though you should realize that most participants will probably be movie fans first and foremost).  Here are some related websites:
http://www.x-menthelaststand.com/
http://www.x2-movie.com/splash.html
http://www.uncannyxmen.net/

Each person should plan on making at least one big project (requiring more time) and two to three small projects.

FYI, I'm at work Monday-Friday 9-5 EST so I won't be here to answer PMs then.  But I will check craftster before and after work (assuming it's not down).

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

I just remember that you were in my first swap, the Star Wars one.  I'll check out your Asian Cultures one too.  There is just too much swap goodness going on right now!

Hmm this is tempting. I like the movies, but I've been a fan of the comics for ages. Would it be possible to get matched with a comic fan, do you think?

So far, everyone who has signed up (3 people, including myself) are also comics fans too.  So it shouldn't be a problem.  I put in the disclaimer about the movie because when we originally discussed starting this swap, the idea was brought up in reference to the movies.  But I'm going to try my hardest to keep movie fans with movies fans and comics fans with comics fans.  I only forsee a problem if we are really unbalanced in numbers.

I just bought a Wolverine sippy cup for myself, today Grin!  My friends just got me into the movies a week before we all went to see X-3 and now I'm slightly obsessed! Why do all the best swaps come up when I'm at my busiest?

How's everyone doing?  I have almost finished two larger projects.  I need to think of some other ones.

And remember, you need to tell me when you send (and provide a DC # if you are sending within the US).

Crappit again!

I just learned about this swap through the new swap gallery posting of it.  Pretty please tell me there will be a round two, because just yesterday, I was actually thinking to myself "I want to make a Bamf doll...hmmm, I wonder if anyone has ever done an X-Men craft swap?  That'd be cool!" and the lo and behold, today I sign on and I find out I missed it.   Cry  I couldn't have participated in time anyway, so oh well.  Hopefullly the next one will be in enough time for me to get positive feedback for my first swap.

I love me some Kurt Wagner (not so much the movie one...but the swashbuckling, ladies' man, laughin' eighties one). And Kitty and Colossus and Rogue and Mystique and so many more....again, the comics, not so much the movies (although I really enjoyed the first two, save for Halle Berry  Tongue )

Well, Miss_Vicki, if there isn't a round 2, perhaps we'll just have to arrange our own Bamf Doll swap.  Or how about a craftster Nightcrawler swap?  I'd be all over that.  Glad to see more people appreciatin' old school Kurt.     Grin

Oh and when Alan Davis draws him - it's simply the best.

Mainly, yes.  He's done some X-men stuff recently, and he did some Fantastic Four, and "The Nail" storyline for DC, I believe.  But his Excalibur stuff is amazing, in my opinion.  Best Kitty and Kurt artist there is. Cheesy Although, I would love to see Mike Allred tackle them, that'd be nice.

Oooh, I really hope there is a second round to this!
