Link: Amy Butler Pattern
I spotted this cute clutch while looking though my emails and thought I needed to actually post the link if no one else had.  The clutch uses only about 1/2 yard of outside fabric and another 1/2 yard for lining.  Looking at the pattern, I think it can be done with several different outside fabrics and look really cute.  If you only have a scrap left of a favorite fabric, I'd use it for the piece that has the pin on it.  Anyway,  "Clutch Purse with Antique Pin Closure" is the exact title at the Better Homes and Gardens site.  It looks like the directions may have been in American Patchwork and Quilting Magazine but I can't tell.

Well, small problem with the pattern: Missing directions! Between the page called Assemble the Clutch and Complete the Clutch, they seem to be missing a page telling you to sew the lining and the outside together.  Basically, you need to sew the lining to the outside fabric with the right sides together but make sure to leave a hole to flip your clutch so the outside is out.  Be sure not to sew the tab piece into the seam.  Press and topstitch around the edge.  Look closely at diagram 14 to see their top-stitching.  Make sure you have already sewn (or whatever) in your closure before you attach the lining to the outside.  I sent them an email to tell them so hopefully they will add the page in.

This is great! I just printed it out and I'm going to tackle it this weekend.  Thanks for the headsup on the missing directions.  Smiley
