My brothers are growing boys.  I have 3 or 4 sets of their boxer shorts, still in great condition, with cute prints on.
What CAN I do with them? I've cut up the silky fabric and made a pretty ruffly pale blue and red top. But, well, that is about all.

I want your lungs to stop working without me.

Id make underwear purses.

Of course, that might be a little gross...

I got some underwear a few months ago and they're already starting to decay. The thing is, the print is so cute I don't want to throw them out! One is blue with unicorns, and one is yellow with stars--two of my favorite things! So, does anyone have any idea what I can do with my ratty old cotton bikini underwear?

Sew them like an applique onto a big purse or tote.

Just kidding.

But maybe cut them into shapes for appliques?  What an interesting situation to be in.  I'd be interested to know what you come up with.

Well, why not use the unicorns and stars as appliques? They're just undies and I'm sure you'd wash them before putting them on a purse!  Grin

Another idea..... you could take apart the undies with a seam ripper and use them as a pattern to make your very own personalized underwear. There's plenty of fabric out there that has unicorns and stars that I've seen. Smiley

Whatever you do.. don't get freaked out by the fact that they're underwear. I've seen lots of cool crafts made from used bikini bottoms... same thing. Smiley

I have 2 pairs of underpants at the moment which have a gorgeous cherry print. They are getting to the ratty end of their life-cycle, so I'm gonna very very carefully slice them up on a 45 degree angle, and create some bias binding, to use on the hems of something (probably a t-shirt). As I have a somewhat expansive butt, I'm hoping that there will be enough fabric there. Wink

Hee hee.... expansive butt. Yay for booties!!  Grin

After reading this post I decided to look at my own underwear. It's disturbing. I keep them for so long that the elastic-y part at the tops of some are starting to unravel. I guess I'm gonna have to find some undie projects too.  Cheesy

I got some new sweaters for Christmas that could use some appliques, so I think I'll use my old panties to that effect. I don't know why I didn't think of it before. It's so simple!

I made 't-shirt yarn' out of some of my old undies http://kwicz.com/weblog/?p=21.  The print is a little obscured, but it makes for some interesting knitting!  It would weave well, too.
