91  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / disposable camera fun on: October 23, 2007 02:33:41 PM

92  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / necklace display and taking the freebies! on: October 22, 2007 03:08:44 PM
I have earing holders from Icings that do the job to display earings but once I put my necklaces on them they tangle. I have the 'bust' type necklace holders however when you have a small table you can only use one or two...What is this girl to do? I have a  show coming up that i want to do well with.

Also I usually place candy, buttons and business cards on the table and people just snatch them up without looking at my products. It kinda angers me...I think of those people that just go to the store to make a sample of all the free food demos. I am not greedy but I wnat people to look at my stuff and not just want my freebies!
93  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / creepy yet cute blood drip! on: October 15, 2007 02:37:42 PM
People find it funny that I can have a whole mess of tattoos but hate IVs and needles...The word "IV" makes me wimper! So I made this necklace from a cell charm, chain and clasps. I showed it off at where I work and they wanted to put it in the shop...Now I am making another for myself!

94  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / airplane earings on: October 12, 2007 09:21:34 PM
Here are some airplane earings I made. I have the charms in a lot of different colors and I never thought something so cute and simple would sale like crazy. I can't keep them in stock at the store I vend at. I want to pair them with my 'puffy white cloud' neclaces..

95  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / puffy cloud necklace on: October 10, 2007 09:08:41 PM
This week as I get ready for a few shows I will be vending at I was trying out some white shrinky material. I wanted to make some fluffy clouds and pulled the material out before it had time to shrink and flatten completely resulting in a puffy look.
96  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / to glaze or not to glaze on: October 06, 2007 07:22:45 PM
So I am kinda new to poly clay. I have been playing around with it and some air dry foam clay...My question is do you galze each project? I bought some glaze this week and I think I like the unshiny look of unglazed stuff. I am making some pendants for an upcoming show this week and am undecided if I galze them. Is it better to glaze you work? I might not have it right, my projects are coming out streaky...What type of brush is best to use?

Can modge podge work? I heard it peels though...
97  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / peanut butter frosting on: September 22, 2007 09:06:59 PM
I go this on vegweb. I have used it on a chocolate cake and brownies this week. My omni guy loves it!

 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
    1/2 cup Earth Balance (margarine)
    2 cups icing sugar
    2 tablespoons soy milk

Beat together all ingredients in a mixer until smooth.

Great served on a chocolate cake or cupcakes, for filling cookies, or just to eat when youre feeling sorry for yourself.

**Due to the amount of icing sugar, its great if you can use natural peanut butter (with no sugar) so it balances out.**

Serves: frosts 1 cake or twelve cupcakes
98  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / hand sewn ragdoll? on: August 20, 2007 12:47:43 PM
Please forgive me if my questions are way-lame but I need help. I want to hand sew a pair of dolls based on my boyfriend and I. I have not donw much hand sewing (I am really into mixed media/found object jewelery) and the time I did use a machine was in junior high in the early 90s.

There is a class I am taking in Oct. but I want to try it now. Any help about fabric or patterns would be great. Thanks!
99  California / California: Central / Modesto (ceres, stockton, turlock) on: June 19, 2007 01:21:42 PM
Anyone in the area? I am in Modesto and have tried a few times this year to start a craft group with no luck. I vend at Queen Mab's (local) and in SF...It seems that to have any fun I have to go up to SF and that is to pricey with the gas cost...
