21  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / meal from a box on: October 20, 2009 08:28:18 PM
Simply Asia makes a few vegan dinners in a box. I like the chili one. You boil the noodles, add veggies and tofu and sauce and you have a meal under 30 minutes.

I use 2 cups of firm baked tofu and steamed broccoli sauteed with olive oil. The directions call for 3/4 cup but I love extra veggies and tofu. The picture was before I added the chili flakes...Oopsss!

22  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Skeleton Moon Dance shrine on: September 21, 2009 04:36:47 PM
I love making shrine...I usually try to use up bits and pieces from other crafts and lil trinkets I have bought (such as the glow skull from a 50 cent machine). I have a drawer for shrine supplies that is crazy full!

This is 6 inches and bigger than I usually do, I like making matchbook sized shrines because I like tiny things. Being 5'10" with a size 11 foot makes me giddy for tiny things!!!
23  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / mini chocolate chip cookies (vegan) on: September 16, 2009 09:49:41 PM

24  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / H.R. Puff 'n' Stuff on: September 11, 2009 06:15:21 PM
So I have a great pal who I have been corresponding with for about 10 years, we write & send gifts about once a month. He is a huge HR Puff N Stuff fan so he asked me to do a wall piece. I could not find a picture I liked online so I just drew it, tinted it using pencils, stitched it and attached it to a canvas I painted.

I hope he likes it, I mailed it today...My kitty and I have been taken on by medical woes & I took too long to finish it!
25  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Brazil nut ice cream on: July 26, 2009 12:06:00 PM
I have been trying out the ice cream maker I got for my birth day. So far I have tried a variety of vegan safe milks like coconut, soy, almond...I have been having fun.

I made vanilla Brazil nut ice cream for my dad yesterday...I used a almond-soy milk base and a half cup of chopped nuts. I added a whole shelled nut to the center since I over bought them & wanted to use 'em up.

I made this for a swap. I eventually mounted it on a flat painted canvas. I took the Sublime Stitching pattern and added flames, then used color pencils to tint the fabric...
