11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Firefly/Serenity Swap Round 8 (signups 9/6-9/19; mail by 10/17) on: September 17, 2008 06:54:24 PM
I'm desperately trying to keep a lid on thinking of specific ideas. I want to make sure I craft something my partner wants as opposed to something I do. I'm actually kind of hoping that they like completely different characters and things so that I'll get a chance to work on my items objectively. If I think it's too cool I might manage to mess it up with my enthusiasm Tongue

ha, that would be even better if I knew how to make a doggy wig....it would make him fancier.

They seriously have dog wigs in the Halloween pet section at Target.

That may be one of the more disturbing things I've ever heard (or read as the case may be.) It's also kind of awesome in an inexplicable way.

I don't know a lot about dog clothing but maybe you could make a hat with an elastic strap and cover it with yarn? Or maybe some kind of hood? To be honest I have no idea what I'm talking about Tongue

I know he doesn't have to match but if you're a robot housewife he could be your owner. Some kind of sweater with a fake shirt and tie connected...?

I think we have enough european craftsters for it not to be a concern but in my experience it takes about a week from the UK to the USA and vice versa.

I really want to do this but I still need a few posts and I have to talk myself into it.  Grin Ok now I just have to stop lurking and post more.

Don't worry about talking yourself into it - we can do that for you Tongue

Just sent in my questionnaire and am very excited. *fingers crossed for more uk participants*

I was all excited when I saw the thread for this swap, but now I'm not sure I'm fan enough.  Re-watching the series at the moment, and lovin it but I'm not immersed in the 'verse.

Don't worry about that, I'm sure complete immersion isn't required and it's hopefully gonna be a lot of fun.

Another Brit, that makes it more tempting.  Postage is a pain to the US (which is a damn shame cos I love swapping across the pond).

I know how you feel - we definitely need some kind of teleporters already :p

Let the cheaper postage tempt you. Peer pressure. Peer pressure.

19  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / How to stop my thread fraying? on: September 07, 2008 02:30:27 PM
Hi, I'm hoping some of the incredibly talented people in these parts can help me find a solution to my problem. I'm currently stitching on a pre-painted canvas and the tension is making the thread fray and snap where it's threaded through the needle.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks?

Thanks in advance!
20  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / Crashing my browser on: June 12, 2008 06:51:36 PM
I don't know if this is happening to anyone else but Craftster keeps on crashing my browser. I check of the site very frequently but every 3rd or 4th time I look my browser crashes and I have to reopen it.
