1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Rude Ovary (in a nice gal) on: June 26, 2007 07:55:58 PM
If your friend likes Guinea Pigs that sing (on a show geared to pre-school aged kids), look up Wonder Pets. The leader of the three animals is a guinea pig named Linny.
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Graduation gifts? on: May 01, 2007 10:09:54 AM

My little sister graduates from HS this year. I got one of those 'lunch box' type tins and tied a bunch of ribbons to the handle and mod-podged scrapbook paper & embellishments to the sides. Its purpose is to hold all those graduation cards & small gifts.. depending on the size of the tin, someone could even use it to hold their cap & gown.

LOVE this idea! Might do it for my cousin who is graduating this year!

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Journal feedback? on: January 23, 2006 02:12:58 PM
After successfully testing the craft waters at Christmas with The Boy (a Family Guy 'Stewie' stenciled shirt) and low budget, I like the idea of a relationship journal/scrapbook for Valentine's Day.

I want to know if anyone has done one/given one, and if it seems practical. The Boy and I go to college in the same town, but at different schools, so we'll be seeing each other mainly on weekends. I thought this might be something nice for during the week (we'd each have one, I'd write in 'his' and he'd write in 'mine'). I am fairly sure he'll like it/use it because it's from me. And then there will also be peanut butter/chocolate goodies to supplement the journal.

I replied to the original post I linked to, but wanted to see if anyone had feedback here too.

Thoughts, opinions?

Thanks!

Has anyone made one and given it to someone? I'm just wondering how the recipient liked it, and if it gets used. I think it's a cute and simple idea. It's easy to keep in touch with e-mails and cell phones and IM's, but this is something that would be a nice keepsake.
7  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: creative halloween costumes on: October 29, 2005 12:05:51 AM
I just got back from my first of possibly 3 costume parties. I went as the Plaid Hatter. Plaid skirt, pants, cape, hat, and shirt! With sunglasses. People were amused.
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Wonderfalls on: September 15, 2005 02:42:02 PM
I'm trying to think of a Wonderfalls related craft for my boyfriend's birthday (on Monday! ACK!). We just finished watching it together, and he loves it. I've hooked many of my friends on it, and the DVDs have made many people happy. Yeah for other craftsters loving Wonderfalls!
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: just broke up on: August 04, 2005 07:50:21 AM
I recommend the crafts thing, but not anything with photos of the ex around like scrapbooking. Last summer, my relationship of 4 years ended and by the time summer was over, I had a bunch of Christmas gifts finished (record bowls, marble magnets, easy beginner stuff).

When one of my friends broke up with her boyfriend, we had a mini boyfriend bonfire (burnt a picture and flushed it away, etc). I think some sort of celebration of what a special person she is might be cool, instead of focusing only on boy bashing.

Also, make sure she gets all of the boyfriend memorabilia packed away. Don't destroy it all now, but pack it away and OUT OF SIGHT! If that leaves things empty, craft away and redecorate! Craft party with the girls!
