1  Re: Quick Plush Monster Swap GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by green_olives on: August 09, 2011 07:34:42 AM
Here are my monsters from jexxican!

We decided to craft two monsters since we both had two little ones. My girls love their monsters and have been carrying them around constantly. I had to literally steal them to take pictures!

She also surprised me with a monster for myself... and I love him! He is so soft Smiley

I apologize for the low quality pictures, my camera has gone missing so I had to use my phone  Undecided

I received my Ninni from Carrieme today, and I was spoiled  Grin

First off is the whole package... well except the flowers, those were from my daughter <3

Next is a close up of my adorable geeky Ninni

And finally I was totally surprised when he came with a matching wristlet!

Thank you so much Carrieme!

Hooray! I got my Ninni from Susanab yesterday Smiley He came with a note saying his name was "my favorite color is brown monster Ninni", it suits him perfectly!

He's absolutely adorable with his blue eyes <3

You can see him sitting nicely on the awesome retro dog fabric Susanab sent with him...

4  Vintage Glamour Girl in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by green_olives on: May 12, 2011 08:08:59 PM
I'm not sure if everyone here will consider this art but I think it is. I really love cleaning up old black and white photos and then colorizing them.

The original image is from www.thegraphicsfairy.com. This was also my first time using textures and I got mine from www.bittbox.com. Comments and critiques appreciated.

p.s. The dot above her eye was removed in final copy, It was part of the texture I somehow missed when I saved this particular image and I'm too tired to upload the proper image tonight.

5  Frosted Glass Mirror? in Glass Crafts: Discussion and Questions by green_olives on: March 05, 2010 02:50:28 PM
Hello all, I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this but here goes...

Well I've had this mirror since I was a child and even then I think it was old! It has this really pretty design on it were some of the areas look like they are frosted. I'm not sure if they are but when I was young I would wipe the areas with my fingers and the white area would disappear for a bit and then return... at least for a while then they started to come back in spots. After seeing I was damaging the mirror I stopped but there are a few areas that just look bad. As of now I just want to get rid of the areas while keeping the existing design. Here is a picture of the corner so you can see what I mean...

I want to keep the black, pink, and green areas and just get rid of the white... I just don't know what it is! I don't even know if it is possible, but in my head it will look good like that.

7  Christmas Card in Winter Holidays by green_olives on: December 03, 2009 08:08:23 PM
For my design class we had to make our own Christmas cards. The teacher wanted us to use our own photography for the card but unfortunately it hasn't snowed here and I've been so busy with other classes I don't have any decorations up so I can't take any Christmasy pictures Sad Instead I looked for clip art in microsoft word and then made my image in photoshop. I absolutely love it and if I knew where I could have cards printed up (my printer broke) I would and send them out.

8  Camera Cozy in Crochet: Completed Projects by green_olives on: November 18, 2009 08:56:35 PM
I'm taking a digital photography class this semester and I didn't have a case for my camera which I always keep in my purse. So out of fear that it would get damaged in my very messy purse I made a camera cozy! This is my first completed crochet project and I made the pattern up as I went along... It's really just two rectangles sewn together with a button hole in one so nothing fancy, lol!

p.s. It really isn't that saggy looking in real life, it was made to fit my camera perfectly but since I needed the camera to take the picture my much smaller phone is modeling it for me!

9  Wedding Invitation in Weddings and Bridal Showers by green_olives on: October 22, 2009 01:04:44 PM
So after 7 years and 2 kids my guy and I have decided it's time to tie the knot. Even thought he hasn't officially proposed and I don't have a ring yet we have a mutual understanding that sometime in 2011 we are going to get married. Since that is quite a while away I haven't done much except find pictures of things I like and organize them in a file on my computer. Well today I found an invitation that I liked and figured I could recreate it in photoshop. Now I will probably find something else that I really like and scrap this but for now I like it and we'll see if it stands the test of time...

Of course I blacked out our last names and the date, website, and password are just placeholders. One thing that I know for sure is that to reduce the amount of paper we use this will be it for the information and no RSVP card, programs, menues, etc... everything will be on the website and it will be password protected. The RSVP is the coolest thing though, I'm making it in Visual Basic and once I finish I'll have to post a link to the practice web page and RSVP form (I'm a web design, computer programming major if anyone cares to know)

Comments and critiques are welcome!

10  Design Image in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by green_olives on: October 01, 2009 06:27:50 PM
So for my design class our teacher told us to play with photoshop a bit. This was my first time creating something in photoshop from scratch, usually just I edit existing pictures. I'm pretty proud of it!
