When you are out there holiday shopping, be sure to take another look at those pretty tree skirts and consider how cute it would look on your darlin'.  Practically every girl likes a swirly skirt!

33  Re: Fall Scarf Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by SkitzoLeezra on: November 06, 2008 03:33:50 PM
Hello All!
The most wonderful jlovesg sent me a great package and I opened it yesterday.

First out was cocoa mixes, teas and such!

PLUS a nice tall mug!
Take a look at this GENIUS black & white scarf with zippered pockets.  Jlovesg is okay with my placing a flask in one of those pockets when I wear it while watching Mardi Gras parades!!
Hm, what to put in the other pocket?  Swap partner filled already with black gloves, lipgloss, anti-bacterial wipes and tissues!
Jlovesg even sent me more personal care goods.  Can you tell that she is a mama?   Wink

But here is the true magic - I received a bonus scarf!! Look how fantabulous it looks with the black/white AND pink coats!!

Big hug to jlovesg for being a wonderful swap partner.  I'm not worthy!!

34  Re: Tea Towel for your Favorite Holiday :: Signups:10/13-19 :: Sendout 11/22 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by SkitzoLeezra on: November 05, 2008 01:38:04 PM
Just now getting around to showing my floss organization.  And to beat you to it, I admit to being anal retentive.  Plus, people give me stuff so I have lots and lots of floss, thread and such!
This is what I STARTED with, floss wrapped around the DMC number labelled card.  I love this system and it was quite relaxing to wind floss while watching TV.

Later a friend gave me tons of floss but I already had a single card in my floss box.  What to do with the overstock?  Used my library card drawer unit.

Organized by DMC floss number.

THEN I purchased a bag of floss at an estate sale.  It was not DMC so I did not feel compelled to mix it with the other plus I ran out of space so I just jammed into these tall vases.

36  Re: Ugly chandelier reborn in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by SkitzoLeezra on: November 04, 2008 08:36:10 AM
Just remember, there is a fine line between delightfully tacky and fire hazard.  Wink

Hmmmm, good to know.  Here is my "candlelier".  It is embellished with broken jewelry and crystals.

Good job, Empress Penguin!

37  Re: As Is OR Modified Aunt Martha Stitchalong in Needlework: Stitchalongs by SkitzoLeezra on: October 01, 2008 09:51:38 AM

This is an Aunt Martha transfer from a kitchen pots and pans issue.  Hand embroidered details atop a red cotton applique.
I think this pot is running and sweating because its behind has been scalded!

38  Embroidered baby burp cloths in Needlework: Completed Projects by SkitzoLeezra on: August 22, 2008 09:43:31 AM
Thinking that I burp all the time and I don't have a burp cloth.  Maybe the next one I stitch will be for ME!
Here are three that I have stitched lately for the bumper crop of babies 'round these parts.  Embroidered on linen-type tea towels from the Martha Stewart collection at Kmart.

39  Robot drawn by nephew, stitched by aunt in Needlework: Completed Projects by SkitzoLeezra on: July 10, 2008 01:49:25 PM

Stitched this robot on nephew's shirt.
Used lightbox to trace his drawing with fabric transfer pen.  Ironed on and stitched.  Nephew is proud.

40  Re: Naughty Words Need love too - the gallery in The Swap Gallery by SkitzoLeezra on: June 24, 2008 02:50:25 PM
My most fabulous swap partner sent this wonderful box of goodies and I received it ON MY BIRTHDAY!  WooHoo!
First out of the box - these funny coasters made with plastic beadlike thingies.

Then, this cool handmade journal book.

With a nice inscription.

Bonus round of resin pendants and earrings.

Shut up and eat your food plate

Eat your damn food plate - cannot wait to use those for my next bunko night with the chicks, I'll cover the text with treats and let them discover it!

Pretty plate, no text.

And my favorite item of all, the Shut Up scarf in my favorite shade of pond scum green

Even if it is June in Louisiana, I wanna wear it right now!  If you see a crazy lady in shorts, sandals and this scarf, it's me.
Thank you Semicharm86 for a great introduction to the world of swaps!
Thank you Gothchic for creating and organizing the swap!
