Alright, I made my first poppet.  My four year old claimed her before I even had the pattern, so without further ado, I present Thalia.  This was a lot of fun, and I anticipate that once my cousin's kids see them I will end up having to make a few more.

She has a ladybug pal on her shoulder, at the request of my daughter.  I made Thalia from sparkly purple fabric that was leftover from Faith's bedroom- before it became pepto pink.  The hair is yarn from a nemo blanket I made her 2 years ago.  I actually didn't have button shanks or any eyes in the house, so I scrounged around and used what I had on hand.  The next one I make will be for my almost 2 year old.  He isn't happy his sister has one and he doesn't.  Since I know his dad won't like the purple fabric for a boy, I'm going to be using my old DCUs to make him a manly poppet in boy friendly camo!     Oh and she really likes going for rides on Faith's hotwheels!

I was so inspired by the green hippie bag (Jonas) and my daughter loved it so she wanted one.  I decided to rework an old pattern of mine and make her a bag since she will be starting school this year.  She picked out all the colors and helped draw the flower on the outside of the bag.  I apologize for the poor picture quality!  My camera is dead right now so I had to rely on my cell phone.  The colors are purple and pink canvas as well as some colorful fabric she picked out for the liners.  We used beads and ribbons to accent the crazy flower.  I will try to add a better picture when I fix my camera.
