2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / crafty tree painting on: July 13, 2011 03:13:09 PM
I guess you could call this a "crafty painting"...the landscape is acrylic & the tree is magazine pieces on canvas.  Let me know what you think...   Smiley

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / 1st project ever on: December 22, 2008 11:53:25 PM
I have never made any kind of jewelry before...unless you count stringing letter beads on things or a little hemp in middle & high school.  But never like this.  I bought some supplies and rummaged through my mom's old buttons...this is what I came up with.  Not super original...but it's my first try.  Smiley  Hope to make more as Christmas gifts.

Let me know what you think!
5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Need an idea on altering on: July 09, 2007 12:19:34 PM
If you get a book which has just one topic, and lots of illustrations (like a book about birds, or mountains, or car restoration, or something!) then you can incorporate the illustrations, and it'll havea  cohesive theme.  (So you can have the birds singing words... and perched on a picture of your house, or migrating from your house to his, you get the drift...).

Alternatively, atlases work really well - you can mark on special places, places you'd like to go, places which are really hot (but not as hot as him), or plot out your relationship history as a journey across the world, rather than through time (don't forget to leave some places undiscovered)

That's an awesome idea...I'd love to do that for friends, too.

Beautiful!  I'm working on my first book now...still trying to find something good for the cover, though.  Yours is great!
7  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / Where To Find Things To Recycle / MAPS on: July 07, 2007 07:19:39 PM
Does anyone have any maps laying around or know where to get free (or at least cheap) maps?  I have several projects I'd like to use them for.

9  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Polkadot Cd shelf on: June 18, 2007 10:45:08 AM
Wow, that's a great idea!  I have so many CD cases lying around...and I've been trying to figure out cheap, creative ways to decorate my new apartment...so, I might have to steal this idea.   Smiley
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: RESIN on: June 17, 2007 06:21:18 PM
This might have been asked in the previous 40 pages...I've read a lot of them!

I'm thinking about making pendants w/ some of my many seashells...and maybe some magnets & other things.  just wondering, would i need to seal the shells?  i know you have to seal paper (what with, exactly?), but not sure if it would be needed for most other things.  also, if i made a magnet, would it be plauslibe to put sand in the resin w/ the shell?  (i just got a cool idea involving sand as i was typing this...)

All the info has been great & I'm sorry if I've repeated anything.
