1  What to do with... in What the heck can I do with THIS? by im_linni on: February 13, 2013 08:14:40 AM
Hi craftsters...

I'm looking for some definitely crafty help figuring out what to do with these cute little owls.  They're terra-cotta, and were supposed to be plant feeders.  Unfortunately, the glaze that was used on them keeps them from being used as plant feeders, they're (mostly) water tight.  They're approximately 6" tall and 2.5" diameter, with holes in the top around 1".

Thoughts on what they could be used for/what one could do with them?

ie: vases (although some of them aren't 100% water tight), add a candle for cute walkway luminaries...it's that pointy base that throws me off!

Thanks!

2  more soda tab purses in Crochet: Completed Projects by im_linni on: April 13, 2008 07:35:24 AM
I posted my first attempt at a soda tab purse a while ago (here... http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=205033.msg2188553#msg2188553 ) I've finished some new ones. With different yarn... and in different sizes and styles.

...

These 2 are both the same general size, one is just turned inside out. I think they're reversible.  and then a close up of the pink one.  The color of the pink doesn't show up great in the pics.  it's a bright hot pink.

and one for size comparison... the bottom one is the original (and well worn with use Smiley )

3  First freezer paper stencil... in Stenciling: Completed Projects by im_linni on: April 12, 2008 05:54:25 PM
I just finished my first freezer paper stencil!  I'm pretty proud of it.

I have one question though, for those of you that have done this before.  My finished painted stencil seems to be cracking quite a bit as shown in the bottom photo... any idea what I'm doing wrong?  Do I need to stretch the fabric more when I am stenciling it?  not apply paint to thick?

anyway, here are the pics (please pardon the wrinkled shirt Smiley )

4  finger puppets... in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by im_linni on: December 01, 2007 04:40:10 AM
I'm not sure what exactly made me want to attempt to make finger puppets... but I got out my box of scrap yarn and made a few.

Here are the first two... They're made using the general patterns for the dragon and horse  here...   http://crochetme.com/Aug_Sept_2005/patt_finger_puppets.html

and then I made up some of my own...  An Octopus, Elephant, and Bunny

5  soda tab purse... in Crochet: Completed Projects by im_linni on: October 30, 2007 05:15:43 PM
I was totally in love with the pop tab purses from Novica... like this one...

I made mine today with yarn that I had laying around.  It's a thicker yarn than they use, therefore it's bigger.  I'm pretty pleased with the result, and that I figured it out!

Have a look....

6  potato bead necklace... in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by im_linni on: August 02, 2007 07:58:56 PM
I think this is where this belongs... it's kind of reconstructed?!?

I just completed a necklace made out of potato beads... I don't think it turned out too bad for my first try... next time I think I'll try to make the 'beads' a little bit smaller.  I painted it to look kind of turquoisey  ...

and a closer up shot...

7  soda can bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by im_linni on: August 02, 2007 07:54:28 PM
I was inspired by this post/tutorial.... http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=49251.0

to make my very own soda can bracelets... they're amazingly simple to make, and very cute!  (I think so anyway) Smiley

I made 2 a thick one, and a thinner one...

the thinner one I added a little paper clip 'charm' to the front...

And this is just to show how I closed it... I punched holes in either side and added a clasp and links

8  'stick' thing... any ideas in What the heck can I do with THIS? by im_linni on: July 13, 2007 04:37:54 PM
any ideas what to do with these?!?  I have just one now because I'm not sure what to do with them... but can have lots...  they're extra parts from where I work.

The only thing I've come up with so far is possibly screwing 3 to a piece of wood like a coat rack type thing.

It's maybe 1 1/2 to 2 inches wide/diameter... and about 6 inches or so long.

Thanks!!

9  another woven magazine purse... and wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by im_linni on: July 09, 2007 05:38:57 PM
Hi everyone!

This is my first 'starting a post'.  I was inspired by this post... http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=52309.0  to make a woven magazine purse of my own.   I made myself a small purse and a wallet, and made a larger more gift baggy type purse for my sister.  It's not quite as nice as the lined one but I like it!

I hope I post the pics right, and they're not too big.

my purse...

and wallet...
  sorry about the blurry-ness
