I hand sewed all the little sequins....ahh...so time consuming!!!!

34  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / 2 New fashionable slouchy hats...cuz all the gals are doing it on: December 19, 2007 05:20:42 PM
So, I sat down wondering how to mold the newly purchased yarn into something I would use.  I ended up ripping out about 4 different things I tried, then I remembered a stitch I had learned one day while flipping through a how to book at the bookstore.  I had used it before, but not in a while. I believe it is called the couter pane stitch...dunno though, but I finally made my MASTERPIECE!!! no 2 MASTERPIECES!!!  here they are, two hats made for less then the price of the ones I was eying in the mall where I work......I've realized I can make pretty much anything I see in a shop window, crochet, jewlery, even clothing....I just have to put my mind into it.....

here they are......

This blue one is the first one.  I ripped it out loads of times and then was finally satisfied...

2nd one

They both look the same in the back, and in the front, just different colors

I used a K hook for the top, then and H hook!!

also blogged http://crossxmyxhooks.blogspot.com/

Thanks for looking!!! Comments appreciated!!!

36  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / lovely crocheted jewlery bag!! on: August 17, 2007 10:31:18 AM
So i saw a post on here earlier where a wonderful crafter crocheted a cute purse for her sister from a vintage pattern she had....I had the same one on my wists and thought...hmm..if they did it so can I...so I did...but..i ran out of yarn and now it had two different color whites on it...i'm using it as a make up bag...so only the inside of my drawer will see it....But i do have a tip...I sewed a zip-lock bag in side it so my make up wouldn't get all over the yarn and all my hard work...its working nicely so far....but this post is for a jewlery bag i did b/c i was inspired by the bobbles of the first pattern...so here ya go...

first, here it is laying on my desk chair

and here is the details of the stitches

there just alternating rows of single crochet and a bobble stitch.  the pics give it a different color but its really mustard yellow and has a draw string closer at the top...

and the action shot...hanging on the closet door

enjoy!!!
37  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / One necklace made from some sweet remnents!! on: August 13, 2007 05:22:07 PM
So it seems to me that I have put down my hook and yarn to create beautiful jewlery.  This two part neckalce came from a belt, two necklaces and a button....The yellow "pearls" were on a necklace strung on a string that I took apart and put on links, the pink cameo was on a Mary-Kate and Ashley necklace I bought on clearance, the pink "pearls" were a belt, and the larger cameo was a button

And of course..the blurry...hey look i'm wearing it shot....how come these self shots are never in focus??? he he he

38  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crocheted Accessorie Goodness on: August 10, 2007 05:21:17 PM
Finally, after what seems like an eternity, I have finished these little flower crocheted pins.  All I had to do for the longest time was sew the backing onto them.  But you know how lazy you get when its just the little details that matter....ne way..here they are.

and here is an example of how I have the backing sewed on...it creates a nice completely finished look to the peice don't cha think???

So excited to have them finished....thanks guys for all your inspiration!!! comments welcomed!!!
39  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Again with my obsession.... on: August 09, 2007 11:36:43 AM
These two bracelets are quite new....I think I made them about 4 days ago.... the bead on the chain are leftover/forgotten/recycled glass beads that came in a giant bag/kit thing....and the charms are plastic that I found in a bin at the thrift store....

this one I am going to call Blue Waves

This one will be Setting Summer Sun

I saw another post on here where a loverly craftster made the same sort of bracelets...with plastic beads and a heart charm...we must have been chanelling the same crafting muse....thats what ispired me to put mine up too...

thanks guys!!
40  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / New Jewels on: August 08, 2007 05:20:00 PM
Hello there...I've been a lurker and have posted a few times before but here are my first serious projects that actually have pictures....

So I kinda am in love with making jewlery now....I've set down my crochet for a while and picked up some pliers....Here are my latest creations.

First is a pair of earrings....the green are glass beads I fell in love with but never wanted to use...

and the second is a necklace made from blue and blue-green glass pearls and recycled pendants from other necklaces I thrifted or got on Clearance...

they are both on silver colored wire.  I took a beading class in high school and ever since I have been puttin my skills to use for a few close friends.....now I think I'll try and profit...ha ha ha....
