1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Some New Earrings, brooch & headband on: October 31, 2010 08:31:02 AM
I was browsing through the craft section of walmart looking for something to do to procrastinate all the things I should be doing & I found a little kit that makes buttons you sew on to clothes.  I thought, well I've never done that before let's see what I make.

So i made the buttons, then while looking at them I thought they would look great as earrings! I had four small buttons & two really large ones.  The small buttons were made into two sets of earrings & the large buttons were made into a headband & a brooch.  I also had an old zipper i wanted to experiment with.  This zipper became earrings as well.

yellow rose zipper earrings

aren't they nifty?  I love to collect fabric & this is a great use for it!

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / New Cake Stands on: July 26, 2010 08:48:24 AM
I made these two cake stands from plates & candlesticks from the thrift store.

this one is for my mothers formal dining room.  they can be separated as well.  how nifty is that!

this one is for me.  I have it shown separated because I will probably use it as a jewelry tray.

I used some E6000 to attach the plates and candlesticks.  Make sure you find the center so they are balanced when they dry.

thanks for looking!

you know crazydoc, I think its a combination of the perspective of the picture and the numbers.  They do look like they are floating.  But I actually used Picasa & didn't do anything special just added text.

hmmm....i dunno the exact answer to how that happened. What a funny find!

Thanks for all the comments!!

I made five, thats right count 'em, five beaded rings! I am in love with them. I love pearls & these were a perfect use for my bead collection!

I got the ring bases on sale at Micheal's and the beads are glass pearls.
