11  Re: 2006 Completed Costumes Scrapbook! (completed project pictures & links go here!) in Halloween Costumes by nero_fiore on: October 08, 2007 12:25:40 PM
I love themes, so last year, we went as a hydrant (poor husband), dalmation and fireman.

The hydrant costume was my own design. I worked roughly off a simplicity pattern for the fireman costume, but modified it to look just like my husband's real bunker gear (he plays a firefighter in real life). My costume is more of a reconstruction with goodwill and lots of black felt. The only store bought item is my son's helmet.

12  Broken drinking glass...any ideas for a craft? in Glass Crafts: Discussion and Questions by nero_fiore on: September 28, 2007 10:14:22 AM
Hi there, I was just doing the dishes and broke one of my pretty blue glasses. At first it was going straight in the recycle bin, but since I've joined Craftster I've been inspired by all you creative people. I'm curious if there are any projects I can turn this glass into something cool? Here's a pic of the glass:

Any ideas what I could do with this?

13  Last year's halloween costume...how do I top this? in Halloween Costumes by nero_fiore on: September 27, 2007 12:30:07 PM

This was last year's halloween costume. My poor husband (who actually is a firefighter) did not like being a hydrant at all. I used up an entire lifetime's worth of brownie points with this costume. This year, my son and I are going to be in Colorado visiting my family for halloween. Since we're going to be in a cooler climate, I can let him be the monster he's always dreamed of. I got this great fun fur at Joann for dirt cheap in blue and a yellow/orange combination and this is what I was thinking of for his costume:

(Excuse the poor drawing skills)

Here's my question, what should I be for Halloween that ties into this costume? I was thinking something like mauled bystander but I don't know if that would scare the hell out of my toddler son.\
