12  COOKING / Dessert / Yaar. A Jolly Roger Pirate Cake. on: May 29, 2009 09:15:52 PM
I whipped up this little thang for a friend's groom's cake / birthday cake for her husband-to-be as their wedding day was close to his birthday. He is a proud member of the U.S. military (woot!) but his secret wish is to be a pirate! Hence the cute cake, by which he was pleasantly surprised on his wedding day. Cheesy Yay for adorable stories and equally adorable cakes!

13  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Handmade mousepad AND wrist support / pad / cushion...it can be done! on: April 07, 2009 11:06:02 AM
I'm so glad you posted this. mouspads are expensive!

What a fantastic and very useful idea. I have two SUNDANCE CHANNEL mousepads that I just picked up from goodwill for about 75 cents altogether. but they have a picture of somebody's feet on them, which I find gross. So perhaps I will borrow your idea and make my own wrist rest and mousepad sans icky feet!  Roll Eyes
14  COOKING / Dessert / cherry blossom cake (first time with fondant flowers) on: April 06, 2009 05:47:54 PM
I made my boyfriend a cherry blossom cake for his birthday.

As proud as I am of the cake, (handmade with marshmallow fondant of course), I am ten times as proud to have a boyfriend secure enough in his masculinity to allow me to make him a cherry blossom birthday cake. Cheesy Thanks, Lovey!
15  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Celebrate with explicit language! on: April 04, 2009 03:53:49 PM
Grin this is so sweet. it brought a tear to my eye. it reminded me of when my boyfriend's dad finished his radiation therapy with a clean bill of health following an episode of prostate cancer... we baked him a "happy prostate cake" (nowhere NEAr as fancy and gorgeous as this!) but still a really good day.  Smiley

Shocked Is that lion brand boucle in "Sorbet"? That yarn is so pretty! I never thought of using that stuff for arm warmers, but they look like they came out great! Are they comfy?
