1  Re: Quadratic formula...? in Discussion and Questions by iHeartSquares on: November 13, 2006 02:56:27 PM
Being the big math nerd that I am, I was inspired by yarnhag's post:

I'm thinking bees (one would be a negative coloured one, the other would be a square bee, of course), AC (alternating current) symbols, a square tree/flower root, ove two guys in touques (eh?  eh?)

I'm into the visual mnemonic thing, personally...

and with a little downtime and the paint program on my computer I made this:

grr the pic is so small! well anyway, the first bee says "buzz. the world sucks. buzz", then there is a Duracell battery and then, the second bee says "buzz. i am such a nerd. buzz"

Thanks for the inspiration yarnhag!

2  Re: Come one come all post your new tattoo IDEAS! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by iHeartSquares on: July 15, 2006 05:25:33 PM
Rckfella, I played with the picture of Matilda a bit to see if it could look not cut off.  I erased the books she is sitting on although I could see how that might be important to the image. But anyway here is a thought:

It is a super cute image, good luck with it!

3  Re: ATC - your favorite Song Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by iHeartSquares on: March 09, 2006 01:13:21 PM
I received my ATCs from poohead and Queen of Fools a few days ago, but have not had a chance to post them yet.
Here are poohead's ATCs:

They are the same songs that she sent to Queen of Fools but the cards are different, it is awesome to see the different layouts and the cards totally rock. You are very skilled poo head! She also sent an awesome handmade card that I seem to have lost the pic of the front but here is the inside:

And see poohead's post for Queen of Fools' "Safety Dance" card. I am totally in love with this card cause, hello, pirates! And such a great song! Queen of Fools also included a signature card that was awesome as well!

Thank you so much poohead and Queen of Fools! You were amazing swap partners!

4  Matching hat and scarf! and scarf! in Crochet: Completed Projects by iHeartSquares on: February 08, 2006 10:59:59 AM
For Christmas I made my brother a scarf and then had some yarn left over so I made him a matching hat for his birthday. This is my first successfully completed hat and I am so psyched about it!

Hat and scarf on chair:

Hat on me:

Oh! and since I never posted it before, I made this scarf for my sister-in-law last year for Christmas. It has pockets on the end!

5  Re: 2005 Completed Costumes Scrapbook (completed projects with pictures go here) in Halloween Costumes by iHeartSquares on: February 05, 2006 03:08:31 PM
I finally got a digital camera so I can post my halloween costume from this year!  I was Yoshi from Super Mario Brothers (I hope that is obvious) The inspiration came from this post by addictedtoplushies.

Here is the full costume (and yes I know Yoshi didn't really wear a skirt but i didn't feel like making pants):

Please ignore the silly pose. I was trying to channel Yoshi and his goofy smile Wink

And a close up of my favorite part, the Yoshi Egg Bag!

6  Loopy Scarf in Crochet: Completed Projects by iHeartSquares on: August 01, 2005 08:17:10 PM
I actually made this scarf for my boyfriend a while ago during a blizzard where I was trapped in my house with nothing but scrap yarn left over from christmas presents and a hook (ok that's a tiny exaggeration Wink) But anyway, this is what I came up with:

and a closeup of the stitch:

7  Re: Ziploc Doodad Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by iHeartSquares on: August 01, 2005 08:09:03 PM
I finally hunted down a digital camera so here are the awesome things sent to me by Rackycoo.

All of the doodads:

and a close up of some of my favs. Sunglasses with flamingos (which I actually wore to a party), a bunch of magnets (including and awesome macho man figurine), pins of Eduardo and Elvis, a monkey button, lego pirate men (arrr), and a cow book (made by Rackycoo) :

The cow book is so cute it deserves its own close-up:

and lastly the kickin' bag everything came in.  You can't tell in the picture but to the right of the heart (which is a pocket) it says i heart squares! Just too awesome!

Once again thank you Rackycoo.  You rock the doodad world!

8  Re: "Let's Do the iTunes Shuffle!" 2 Mixed CDs Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by iHeartSquares on: August 01, 2005 07:44:28 PM
I finally hunted down a camera so I could post the cool CDs I got from Starsview and Ynneg. However I don't have the CDs in front of me so I will post the track listings soon! In the mean time, check out these cool covers!

Here is the cd from Starsview. I really dig the picture on the front!

...and Ynneg's cd. How cool is that blender? It is actually her blender!

Oh! and the music rocks too!

9  Re: Color Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by iHeartSquares on: June 05, 2005 10:35:29 AM
So I received all this about a week ago, and then went into tech (i work backstage at a theater) and never got to post.  But finally here are the super amazing things that kmsmaverick sent to me.

First we have two awsome pillow cases:

and detail of:

Then an amazingly professional looking bag:

and detail of:

and this rockin' mini-lamp  (which has happily found a home on my desk):

and lastly a lovely necklace (i heart the beads):

Sorry this post is kinda image heavy but i wanted to show all the amazing detail that went into everything.  I am super happy and love everything and with the help of the pillowcases and lamp I now know how i am going to be redecorating my room Smiley

Thanks again kmsmaverick!

10  Bodger Monster in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by iHeartSquares on: April 11, 2005 10:28:33 AM
So here is my first attempt at a monster:

I made him for my boyfiend. His name is Bodger and he is a booger-monster (tee-hee).  Bodger enjoys ice-hockey, flying through the air, and layin' around and his favorite thing to say is "I may look scary, but I'm snot!"  He also enjoys really bad puns.

I never noticed how naked looking Bodger is.  I may have to make him some clothes now.
