1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / My First Reupholster on: December 08, 2007 04:35:38 PM
I was going to post this in the redo craft challege but there are already so many amazing reupholstery projects there I thought I should post it here instead.

I bought this Henredon chair at an estate sale for $20.

Who doesn't love weird 50s velour that may be green-turned-gold or may just be moldy? Okay, me, for one. So I took it all off.

Then I had that moment of "oh, crap, I have a skeleton of a chair in the middle of my one-bedroom-apartment, and the cat is eating the stuffing". But I extracted the cat and forged ahead...

And with the new fabric pieces and about 500 staples, I actually managed to reupholster a chair!

All in one day, and it really wasn’t that hard. Now let’s see how long it lasts. Grin
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Summer Twinkletrotters the Hippy Piglet Poppet (img heavy) on: November 29, 2007 07:47:18 PM
Hi! I would all like you to meet my new poppet! She's a piglet poppet with a love of nature... but why don’t I let her introduce herself?

Note: Summer survived her ordeal with nature, though we’re still waiting for her boot to show up in the litter tray. Grin
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Pudgie Reindeer (based off the Pudgie Unicorn) on: November 26, 2007 08:47:37 PM
I used MinaBeana's tutorial (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=206077) to make some Pudgie Reindeer ornaments.

They are a bit front-heavy, though, so when they hang they look like they’re grazing. ^_^
4  Wisconsin / Wisconsin: Southeast / Anyone know of loom weaving classes near Madison? on: October 17, 2007 08:45:39 AM
I know Lakeside fibers used to have them, but they've stopped (can't figure out why...). Anyone know of some loom weaving classes near Madison? I'd really like to sign up for one with my mom as a christmas present for her, but loom weaving doesn't seem to be "in" right now. Sad
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Making a robot mascot... help? on: June 13, 2007 12:34:59 PM
This is my first post - hi!  Grin

Now to business! ^_^ I was wondering if someone could offer suggestions on making toys/plushies of a robot mascot named Geek.Bot. A picture of him is here: http://www.laura-anderton.com/Geekkon/Mascots.jpg

This is our first con, and I would really like to have something we can give away as prizes for the gaming tournaments we’ll be having. I was hoping I could make something cheap and not to hard – like a plushie or doll or something. But I don’t know where to begin – I’ve never done this before.

Could anyone suggest a pattern or something that would be something similar, that I could modify to make Geek.Bot prizes? Thank you so much for any help!
