1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Really expensive earrings for cheap! on: September 09, 2010 06:18:55 PM
So, I really love this website Moxsie.com
There's a lot of cute stuff, including these ones here:

http://shop.moxsie.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/168x168/5e06319eda06f020e43594a9c230972d/M/a/Made_BroadwayHoopEarrings_1.jpg

...but on Moxsie, they are $58! (Of course, they are GOLD gold, and REALLY nice materials.)

So i decided to make my own:

and an action shot:

They're not quite as professional, plus I hate gold so I used silver (well...cheap silver),  but I really like them Smiley

P.S.- I also came across these earrings on Moxsie

and about freaked out because I had made these about 4 months ago. I feel great about myself now. LOL.
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Shrinky dinks really are magic! on: June 25, 2007 10:23:28 AM
After visiting this forum for awhile and seeing how amazing people's shrinky dink (shrink plastic) pendants were coming out, i decided to give it a try! It was only like 4.50 for a package of 12 at Michaels. The first ones didn't look very good because i used sharpies, and i didn't quite like the color, but i tried colored pencil and i LOVED the colors. It's so fun to watch them shrink and curl up and then uncurl!!!! Just don't be dumb like me and pick it up when it gets out of the oven  Undecided Cheesy  I was just really excited to touch it. anyway, here they are, sorry about the crappy pictures. I can't take pictures to save my life.

*NOTE* Since i can't draw worth beans, most of these were traced; some designs i even found on this website and on etsy. If it is your design, PLEASE tell me!!! I WOULD LOVE TO CREDIT YOU!!!!!

This is the first one, which i wasn't very happy with the color. They're two swallows and the thing around the heart says "Hope." It was a design from a pirates of the carribean shirt i have.

This is my sad cupcake. I think the brown is a bit too dark, but other than that, i love it

Def. one of my favorites, my happy ice cream cone!!!

My hungry hungry hippos Smiley

Rainbow earrings (with star hole punch instead of a circle because i'm cool like that)

A, uh...cow spot? pendant. I tried to trace the rainbow i had just drawn, but realized it wouldn't fit, so i filled it in and made other blobs in the area and it turned into cow spots.

My turtle. I love using the wavy scissors Smiley

Davey Jones...well, not really. It was an octopus that lacked something, so i added the black heart in the middle (hahaha, Davey doesn't have a heart, get it?) And wrote "Davey Jones" on the bottom.

More hungry hippos i made, with the other ones, being happy (I want to put them on earrings with a white ball bead above it, so it looks like the balls they eat Smiley )

My happy tomato (My town puts on a tomato festival every year, so i am ALWAYS looking for cute things to sell there that go along with the theme. I would love if you had any ideas Smiley )

What shrinky dink collection would be complete without a Ron Weasley Potter Puff???

My uber-cool spiderman that took me forever to trace and cut out

I am seeing wicked TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!! And my mommy made me a Glinda dress, so i needed a pendant to wear Smiley I AM SO EXCITED!!! IT's my favoritest musical ever (i'll post pictures of the dress after tomorrow)

AND FINALLY, my favorite of....well, ever.

My little mermaid. I swear, this was one of the hardest things i've ever had to trace, besides the spiderman. It's a little big, but i love big jewelry. Right now, i just have it on a chain because i wanted to wear it right away with my little mermaid tshirts that i bought at hot topic (it's my favorite movie, if you can't tell). I want to make earrings that are flounder and sebastian (because all the little mermaid jewelry i have is so...little girly) and add embellishments to the necklace.

Soooooo, whatcha think??? Any pointers?Huh? I'm getting a lot better as i go on, especially with taking them out and flattening them. And this is the first time I've ever used the white colored pencil in my life Smiley Now i know what it's for lol.

Wellll, thanks for looking, more to come later. I'm making my boyfriend an X-box controller charm, and a guitar hero charm and some family guy charms. And i want to make him a charm from his favorite you tube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGvw6WpHSF4  it's from robot chicken, it's a giraffe in quicksand that goes through the 5 stages of death) but i have no clue how to get a screen shot to trace the giraffe... any help?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Mas T-Shirts on: June 13, 2007 03:38:21 PM
I really love those print-off-the-computer iron on transfers, and i've made a bunch of shirts. Check it out:

A RENT shirt i made with fabric paints and bleach. It's handpainted, so that's why it kinda stinks.

Closeup

My best friend and I were obsessed with Top Gun for the longest time, so for her birthday, I made us both Top Gun shirts with our nicknames (she was "Maverick" and i was "Iceman" which is weird since they were enemies and we were best friends, but whatever)

The front (again, handpainted with silver fabric paint, so its kinda weird)

The back, my iceman nickname. the star is kinda weird

My favorite shirt of all time, my Wicked shirt. Again, hand painted with fabric paints. I wanted a Wicked shirt, because it's my favorite musical EVER, but they're far too expensive, so i made my own Smiley

Now for the iron-ons Smiley

I found this image online, so it's not really mine, but it says "Things haven't been the same since that house fell on my sister" so i had to make it. It's kinda plain. Think I should add some jewels or sequins or something?

My boyfriend and I are pretty much in love with Ninja Turtles, so when the movie came out, I had to have a shirt.

Front (as you can tell, Michelangelo is my favorite Smiley )

Back (it says "Turtle Power")
Again, found this online, made some changes on PSP8 and used an iron on thingy

And the best one ever:
My boyfriend and I were at the movie theatre at midnight for the opening of Spiderman 3, so i had to have a shirt. Found the idea online, but did this one myself

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Tie Skirt on: June 13, 2007 03:23:59 PM
So i know it's been done a million and a half times, but when i was in the 5th grade (about 5 years ago) we took a field trip to an art museum and one of the pieces was a skirt half made out of ties, so my mom and i were inspired. and although i didn't sew it, because i can't sew worth beans, it's my awesome tie skirt!!! When i first wore it, everyone thought it was ugly (but that was just because it wasn't from limited too lol), but now everyone loves it (and yes, i can still wear the same skirt 5 years later). So yes. Do tell your opinions. I want to make an all pink one soon.

The front

And the back. Upside down, i might add.

Please excuse my feet and cherry pajamas, by the way
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / new here-jewelry galore-need opinions(pic heavy) on: June 13, 2007 02:59:10 PM
I've been watching this forum for quite some time now, but never had the guts to actually post anything i've done on this website.

So, here goes. I started making my own jewelry probably a few months ago, and it's nowhere near professional, but i'm a teenager, so who cares? Opinions and constructive criticism would be WONDERFUL!!!!!!

A pair of earrings i made with bows i found somewhere

A cute rainbow choker with an ice cream eraser as a charm

Just a stretchy rainbow bracelet

blue and stars

I love this one Smiley

Another pair of earrings. I was experimenting with bending wire

Smiles

blue

Rainbow and pearls

A cute pink one that came out waaay to small for any normal human being to wear. I might give it to my younger cousin to make her feel grown up

The extra-charm-filled green bracelet i made today because i was trying to be jolly and green

A blue one with nifty rectangle beads

A necklace i made from an old cell phone charm

A closeup of the charm

And my favorite necklace that i made. idk why, i just love that big green circle bead.

Please give opinions, comments, suggestions, what types of things you did when you started beading. That would be wonderful, thank you!
