1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Help! Making Drapes on: July 04, 2009 08:37:23 PM
Hi, I'm making some drapes and I am in love with the look of inverted box pleats. Unfortunately I have no idea how to make them. Is there anyone who could tell me how or link me to a good tutorial? I would be so so so so thankful!

Here is an example: http://www.windowcloset.com/Inverted%20box%20pleat.jpg

Thanks so much in advance
<3 Morgan

Wow these are really great! I especially love the purple and gray one. I would buy that any day!

Also, I'm sort of a beginner at sewing. Do you think something like this would be too hard for a newbie?

Haha this is fun. I think sometimes I need this reminder. Anyway, great work!

P.S. Am I the only one who gets really excited when there's a "Mature Content" or "NSFW" warning in the topic? Especially when the front page loads and one just jumps out at you from the "hot new topics" category? Ahhh, It's always worth it.
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Resin and Spoons on: November 05, 2008 04:57:06 PM
OH MY GOSH I love these! Seriously these are gorgeous! I've just started working with resin and this is very inspiring. Stupid question though -- How do you cut/bend the handle-y part back to make the loop? And how do you do it so neatly?

Holy crap! I live in Baton Rouge and I was so going to go to Uncommon Threads but I couldn't get off work in time! Now this just makes me more depressed that I missed it. Seriously, this is amazing and beautiful. I bet it's even better in person. How was the event?

Oh my.... I love Eddie Izzard and this is brilliant! It must have taken you along time to fill in all of the cupcake. I'm impressed and amused! This rocks!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Kimono inspired shrug on: October 07, 2008 02:56:34 PM
Whoa. *blinks*. I have a kimono that my mother made in the 70's as a costume that is that exact same fabric!!!!!! No lie. How weird is that!??
Anyway, I have always loved it. And your shrug is a great use for it!! Awesome job! I'm still a little stunned to see that fabric though. Haha.
8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: To Write Love On Her Arms Memorial Quilt on: July 29, 2008 04:41:12 PM
I don't usually comment that much on posts but this one was too important to me not to. This is so beautiful. Having struggled with s.i. issues for a long time myself, this really means a lot to me. I am so sorry about your loss and your pain. But I am so glad you have turned it into wonderful, positive things. TWLOHA is an org I only found out about within the last year or so but I'm glad I did. I am glad someone is finally bringing awareness to this.
Your story and your spirit are moving and incredible and I really hope you keep creating beautiful things like this. You inspire me.
