1  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / need angel in the elements swap - found! on: September 29, 2009 09:30:37 AM
We need another angel in the elements swap...  Cry

Discussion thread:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=313694.0

Gallery Thread:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=314565.0

the package destined for cat9 was lost, and she has been incredibly patient while UPS tried to find it for more than a week (almost two weeks now), but looks like it is forever gone

so she is in need of an angel   Undecided

she is in the USA, and here is part of her entry form:

Quote
Which grouping of elements do you prefer of those mentioned, or do you have an alternate group?Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire are fine by me.

What is your favorite element? Earth
least favorite? Water (Maybe I'm just avoiding mud )

What element do you feel the most in tune with? Definitely earth - from dirt (I'm a gardening type) straight through all the metals that come out of it.

anything in particular you want to receive? Nope, just can't wait to see what you come up with.

anything in particular you would prefer not to recieve? Nope

hope someone is interested in being a great angel for cat9!

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / organizers only swap? on: September 14, 2009 12:51:32 PM
are you an organizer who always picks someone that is a little wishy washy for your own partner? or takes that international partner because no one else wants to send international packages? or always invariably takes on a first time swapper? or just spends all your time worrying if there are going to be any flakes in the group?

how about this - a swap only for those who have organized at least two (or maybe make it three?) swaps!

we could even make it an EXTRA large swap since everyone will hopefully have been great at fulfilling their swaps!!

any interest? anyone want to organize? or at least co-organize? I can't organize right now, but could sometime in late October or maybe November...

what is good timing for everyone? I really have to wait until after mid-October whether I am organizing or not.

this idea was aborn while I was PMing pinkleo about something to do with flakes...

5  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / angels needed for Chocoholics Unanimous Round 5 Swap on: August 29, 2009 11:26:00 PM
Cry  looks like we will be needing at least two angels for the Chocoholics Unanimous Round 5 Swap, maybe three...

Discussion thread to be found here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=309770.0

Gallery is to be found here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=310482.0

all three potential recipients are in the USA, but had international partners - so they had a fair outlay of postage on top of the swap requirements. I would like that the angels consider that in planning.

minimum swap requirements are:
a medium and two small crafted items AND at least $10 American worth of chocolate

send me a PM if you might be interested, I won't know if I will need that third one until the middle of the week

first time swappers will be accepted but must send before their partner sends and remember to provide adequate proof of sending

Details of swap:

This round we are trying something new again! We will be doing a combination swap with options!

first option - send a shrine only (see shrine swaps for more information on this - links to follow)

second option - send a medium sized flat rate box of supplies with at least part being wiccan/pagan related items such as herbs, candles, incense, and things like fabrics that are appropriate for the theme (for international swappers partners will work out equivalent and fair exchanges with me included in final decision making or will swap with others in thier own country where possible - keeping in mind restrictions customs sets on some locations such as AU does not allow plant matter to enter the country and USA would not let me have my brownies from Canada  Embarrassed )

third option - send a shrine and fill the rest of a flat rate box with supplies

I am hoping that we will have equal numbers that will pair up well for each category but if we have someone that wants to do both and someone that wants only a shrine swap and another that wants only a supply swap making the groups uneven there is a chance that someone will be crafting a shrine for one partner and sending supplies to another - but that will most likely be me  Undecided

Be creative and Have fun!

Please consider your partner's interests and requests when crafting, and feel free to contact your organizer with questions or worries! If you have any doubts about your partners interests, please ask them to clarify to make sure they will be receiving something they can use and enjoy.

Swap name:  Elements Swap Round 2
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: RondaS
Sign-up date range: July 19 to July 25, partners July 26
Date to send item by: Sept 8th (long crafting time so hope that works for everyone! I am hoping for lots of early sending but thought to give everyone that holiday weekend we have in America here to tie up loose ends)

link to the currently nekked and empty gallery thread
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=314565.0

please don't reserve spots in the gallery or I won't know when you have posted photos since I use the notify tool - just post pics when you get your package so I can mark you off on my lists

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): nah - why be restrictive!
Restricted to people who all live in the same country? NO
Age requirement? Over 13 - please testify you are at least 13 to fulfill Craftster swap requirement, if you are under 18 please get your parent's permission

Details of swap:
This swap is all about the elements: Earth, Air, Water, and Fire!

Alternative belief systems include the three elements of Earth, Wind and Sea, the four Winds (North, South, East, West) which are also associated with elements, or the 5 elements of Earth, Wind, Water, Fire and Storm/Spirit and individuals wanting to receive items for those alternative systems are welcome to join in!

We will be crafting for this swap the equivalent of a large, a medium and two smalls or if you want to consider in a point system that would be around 7 or 8 points.

guide and examples from the info list by Leah:
By Time
-Big/3 points = 3 or more hours
-Medium/2 points = 2 or more hours
-Little/1 point = 1 or less hours

By Size
-Big/3 points = A shawl, a shirt, a skirt, a set of jewelry with four to five items, a purse
-Medium/2 points = one single necklace or bracelet, a scarf
-Small/1 point = Earrings, stickers, wallets, pouches, bookmarks, magnets

By Price
-Big/3 points = $30 or more
-Medium/2 points = $10-$30 dollars
-Small/1 point = $10 or less

when working things out by points, I usually look at time and price and ignore size unless I am sending international - just a hint  Smiley

Just work that out with your partners, and don't send a whole lot of smalls unless your partner wants a smorgasboard of earrings or something, LOL! Let me know if you think you need to have someone know what you and your partner have agreed to.

The entry has a question about which style of elements you prefer - and please indicate that. Everyone is to craft at least one item for every element in their partners preferred elemental grouping!

For some great ideas on what you could craft check round one here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=276971.0

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
PM the organizer and your partner when you both send and receive.  If you are sending within US you need to get a DC# or tracking number.  If you are sending internationally you must have proof of shipment in either a receipt or customs number.

We want to see all your goodies so if you don't have a digital camera please get your partner to take pics for you.

Please keep good communication with your partner.

There will be check-ins that will be done via PM. Also, everyone must send the organizer a PM or post at least once a week on the thread.

Please feel free to contact me if you have questions, concerns or something comes up.  And remember to HAVE FUN!

We are not requiring DC#'s on tthis swap but if your partner does not receive you will need to remake the chunky page for them! If you do get a DC# that will work as proof you sent, so you won't have to re-do but would be nice if you did!

When you send you must send a PM to both your organizer and your recipient with WWP 13 or Chunky Page in the subject line, and when you receive you must send a PM to both your organizer and your partner, and post photographs in this gallery! If you can't take photos, please ask your partner to take them before sending!

if you have a question, ask!
there are no such things as stupid questions!
I am sure our esteemed co-org will know more than me
but I will try!

have a great time!

Ronda
