2  New artwork! Boho henna flower in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by HeIsMyEvenstar on: April 12, 2013 09:00:23 PM
I made this yesterday. I plan on sending my profit from this artwork to my sponsored child in Ghana! It's done in acrylics and ink on foam board with a matte finish. It's 16 x 20 inches. I haven't been this excited about an artwork that I've completed in a long time! I hope you enjoy it as well Smiley

3  Where the Wild Things are Silk Painting on scarf in Dyeing: Completed Projects by HeIsMyEvenstar on: December 06, 2012 10:35:50 PM
This is my second attempt at silk painting, it's so much fun! I really wish I had a silk stretcher, I feel like it would be really beneficial. I am finding that it's really difficult to get the background color an even tone... any tips? Thanks for looking!

4  1st time silk painting attempt of silk chiffon in Dyeing: Completed Projects by HeIsMyEvenstar on: December 04, 2012 08:04:02 PM
So I've been watching art youtube videos like crazy and came upon silk painting. I love it! Being an artist and loving textiles what better way to combine the two? So I bought a boatload of silk painting supplies from Dharma Trading and attempted it for the first time this evening. I'm not a fan of the chiffon, but used it as a practice round because it was the cheapest silk scarf they had. So without any further ado, here is my first and definitely not last silk painting. I would love feedback and advise!

5  Faith Hope and Love in China in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by HeIsMyEvenstar on: August 07, 2012 01:00:06 PM

A couple years ago I spent a few weeks in China helping at an orphanage. This is an adaptation of a photo I took from when the orphans danced for us. Along the side I added the Chinese characters for Faith, Hope and Love. Right before our team left the orphanage, I broke down in tears. A little orphan girl wiped the tears from my eyes and told me to be strong.
This is done in watercolor, acrylic, pencil, and charcoal.

6  McCalls m6460 w/ alterations in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by HeIsMyEvenstar on: May 10, 2012 09:38:58 PM
I used pattern m6460 to make this dress. Because the pattern was "Easy" it did not have a lining and some of instructions lead to what ultimately would have turned out to a tacky looking dress. I incorporated my own knowledge to get the results I did. I altered the back. The zipper was supposed to be placed at the nape of the neck but I lowered and shortened it. I also added a lining. The dress turned out really form fitting and quite a bit low in the front. FYI in case anyone else goes to make it.

My version:

7  Hope and Creation in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by HeIsMyEvenstar on: May 10, 2012 08:17:38 PM
These were a late night therapy session (nothing like art to calm and relax) for me this semester one week when I was feeling slightly overwhelmed by schoolwork, duties and hormones. I ended up entering them into our art show where they were displayed with an honorable mention. They are done in acrylics, watercolor pencil, colored pencil and ink. Smiley I hope you enjoy them!

8  Looking for some critique and opinions in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by HeIsMyEvenstar on: March 19, 2012 01:47:31 PM
This is my newest artwork and I need some critique. I would like to know what you get from this artwork, if you get anything at all. Any and all opinions appreciated! I want to make prints, but I would really love some feedback before doing so. I haven't titled it yet, this is always so difficult for me... suggestions? Thank you so much! I know I can always rely on you wonderful people Smiley

9  Fashion Drawings in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by HeIsMyEvenstar on: September 20, 2011 05:32:03 PM
I made these for my fashion drafting class. I misread the directions. I was supposed to use scanned fabric as the print, but in the first one I found swatches online. So I had to make another one. But it's all good, I enjoyed the process! Our assignment was to get an outfit, recreate it and put it to a new background. I used illustrator and photoshop.

The Process:

10  My first ATCs in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by HeIsMyEvenstar on: September 15, 2011 11:03:36 AM
THese are a few of my ATC's that I created over the summer. They are done with gouache, prisma pencil, acrylic and ink. I hope you enjoy them! I decided to try and sell a couple, I actually sold the first 2, to raise money for tuition. Although I sold them quite cheap I was ecstatic that people enjoyed my artwork.

First piece of artwork I have ever sold!

Hope you have a great day, thanks for looking! God bless!
