11  Cross Stitch Buttons in Needlework: Completed Projects by wildanimus on: December 18, 2008 06:31:34 PM
I've been playing around with new ways of using cross stitch.  I got the idea to make buttons a few days ago and created these:

Monogrammed buttons.  I stitched these on linen.

Little cupcakes!

These are my favorite!  Little flames. Smiley

These are so much fun and a good "instant gratification" type of project.  I did the cupcakes and flames free-handed.

12  My funniest cross stitch item! in Needlework: Completed Projects by wildanimus on: December 02, 2008 11:00:04 AM
Alright, so this is one I came up with a while back ago expecting nobody would like it except for me.  It's probably one of the toughest I've made because the lollipop has so many colors.  I made this for someone to give as a gift for his newborn nephew, LOL!

13  My Cross Stitch in Needlework: Completed Projects by wildanimus on: December 01, 2008 10:19:15 AM
Hey there!  I just wanted to share some of my cross stitch items.  I started cross stitching about two months ago (I picked up a kit from Subversive Cross Stitch and fell in love with the craft).  Now I design my own patterns. These are some of my recent works:

This is supposed to be personalized.  I wanted to stitch "Baker 4 Life" (since I'm a baker), but decided to leave it up to someone else.

This is probably one of my favorite designs.  I wanted to create something simple and modern.

Another simple, modern design.

I designed this one myself and was really proud of the results.

This is one I created for the holidays.  I love cupcakes and I'm a baker.

14  My large paper wall art in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by wildanimus on: July 15, 2007 09:59:45 AM
UPDATE!

I finally found frames, so my artwork is finally hanging up.  Michael's had frames for 30% off, so I was able to get them for pretty cheap.  Here they are:

I'm sure this goes here, as it was all made out of paper.

I took inspiration from a thank you card I made awhile ago, and applied it to three 16x20 pieces of art for my bedroom walls.

Sorry, this one is a little blurry.

Resizing apparently made this one blurry as well.

Everything was cut entirely from paper and glued onto multimedia board.   I used a rubber texture plate for the "bark" look on the trees.  I'm very happy with how it all turned out, but I still haven't framed them.  I'm having a hard time coughing up money for the frames.

15  Thank you card--I'm so proud! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by wildanimus on: June 25, 2007 11:53:55 AM
My husband and I received a veeeery early first anniversary gift from a family friend, so luckily I had an excuse to make a thank you card for them.  Here is what I created yesterday:

Everything was cut out from some cardstock I had on hand.  I freehanded the tree and branches on cardstock and very carefully cut it out and pasted it to the card.  I was so proud of myself!  The part I think turned out unexpectedly was how the pattern actually matched up on the butterfly on the lower half (the big leaf that crosses over).  It wasn't intentional at all.  I had traced the two pieces on completely different areas of the cardstock.

And I finally figured out how to make my own rub-on decals.  That's how I made the "Thank You."  It's much darker in person.

I love how it turned out and I'm now thinking of recreating these on a much larger scale to hang on my walls.

Ok, thanks for letting me ramble on!
