1  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Newbie question: Is felt the only fabric I can needle felt on? on: February 28, 2010 08:31:57 AM
You can pretty much needle felt onto any fabric background.  That is the part of the fun of needle felting thinking of what you could put designs on.
2  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: International day of felt! - post your pictures here on: October 15, 2009 02:42:33 PM
Here is what I did for Felt United day.

And I also added one of my flower pieces to the fence in front of our home.

I am pretty sure that most people driving by are not sure what kind of art it is but hopefully they enjoy it!

3  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Everything's PINK! on: November 18, 2008 07:22:36 AM
What type of dye were you using?  Did you wet the wool or roving you were dyingbefore putting it in the dye?  With a little more information maybe we can help you solve your dying dilema.
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Fill-A-Box Canadian Style Round 2 Gallery! on: November 11, 2008 07:08:19 PM

Mary sent me a wonderful bag of goodies and I regret that I did not get pictures posted earlier.  There is a lot of wonderful roving for me to play with doing my wet felting, some wonderful scarves for my dogs and a catnip mouse for my crazy cat.  Some kits for a couple of intersting projects, some wool and needles, buttons, knitting pattern books, and lots more.

Thanks so much to Mary and to our great swap organizer.
5  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: September 08 Felting Challenge Entry - Wet felted flower pieces on: September 29, 2008 03:59:18 PM
The pieces were about 12" by 15" or maybe slightly larger.  At the time I was using a small table as I had hip replacement surgery and was restricted to sitting and doing any felting so I could not make anything that ended up very large.  I have since upgraded to a larger table that I got from Canadian Tire.  Not sure what I would do with Canadian Tire to purchase the bulk of my "non fibre" felting supplies.

Thanks for looking at my pieces.

6  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: Fiber Friday 9/26/08 on: September 29, 2008 02:47:19 PM
I really like checking out fibre Fridays and seeing all the wonderful colourful creations that are posted.  I have been afraid to try spinning as I already have a "fibre addiction" and I am sure that spinning would just add to it.

Please keep up all your hard work for my viewing pleasure.
7  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Roving questinos on: September 29, 2008 02:25:13 PM
I am pretty sure that you can get superwash merino roving that would not felt so that might be a good way to start until you refine your techniques!
8  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Re: Newbie with links to Dye pics to share :Faux Marbleing on: September 29, 2008 02:17:38 PM
I saw this technique a while back and would like to try it on a chiffon scarf to see how that works.  I just need to buy another tin of shave cream as I know I will get in trouble if I use all of my husbands!

Thanks for sharing your photos.

9  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Wet Felted Wool Ball Tutorial (with videos) FREE on: September 29, 2008 02:12:47 PM
That looks like a great way to make wet felted balls.  I will have to give it a try.

Thanks for taking the time to make the video.

10  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Future felting challenges - have your say on: September 29, 2008 01:51:15 PM
I took part in this challenge and I will enter more.  Advance notice of what the future challenges are to bring is good, the end of the month makes it easy to remember and maybe for the first few you might need to add posts in a couple of other places just until folks get into the habit of checking to see what the upcoming challenges are going to be.  And maybe instead of voting we could just have a draw for the winner as anyone who puts there work out on the internet for all to see is a "winner" in my book.
