1  Wall Letters! Inspired by thankyoulocust (pic large) in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by Heartman on: March 18, 2009 10:57:34 PM
I made them too! for my sister
But i was cheap and didn't buy wood letters.
or maybe not cheap resourceful?
i dont' know... I cut up a cardboard box.
But that did allow me to choose my own font for the letters!
Which was way fun!

here we go... the colors are a little off but i think they still look okay.

Whole name:

Whole name again: Look!!  Shocked There's severus snape!! hehe

letter e: my favorite!

and letter m: why i don't know

What i did was go to dafont.com. They have tons of awesome fonts. So i installed one called casual and the put it in microsoft word and printed out one letter per page. in light gray to save some ink. yeah! and then taped those to the scrapbook paper and used my trusty exacto to cut them out. so then i traced them on cardboard and cut those out and rubber cemented them on the cardboard letters. and then trimming lots of trimming! oh and i made a flower too! and just hung them up with painter's tape. ha but thats cool i guess because then my sister can arrange them however she feels. i tried painting them but they don't look as pretty as thankyoulocust's because cardboard has holes you know?

thank you so much to thankyoulocust! you are awesome for coming up with this idea!
let me know what you think! thanks for looking!

2  Swwweeet Fabric... What to do!?!? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Heartman on: March 18, 2009 10:10:46 PM
i have the most fabulously happy fabric!   Cheesy
i saved it from my mom. She was going to throw it away! *gasp* i can't believe her!
yes so i took my seam ripper (used to be sheets and shams) and now i just have a few yards of this awesome fabric.

Pictures to demonstrate awesomeness:

it's not as dark as in the pictures. pretty much primary color brightness.
and i thought maybe it could make like a cool high waisted skirt or something!
except its FLANNEL! which could work i guess... i'm not 100% convinced as of yet though. and maybe that would look too little kidish?

does anyone think it has potential as any sort of clothing? besides pajama bottoms? if not then i'll certainly turn it into some. but i was hoping for something more exciting!!

ideas?

Thank you!!

3  Some things I've made... (4 pictures) in Dessert by Heartman on: February 25, 2009 10:36:36 PM
so i am a serious lurker/obsessive bookmarker.
but i decided what the heck i'll post some things i've made.
which is about four cakes- nothing special here.
haven't worked up the courage to try fondant yet though.
i have a box of wilton in the pantry but i don't really want to ruin a good tasting cake with its not so good taste. haha so i'm waiting  Smiley
anywho....
(hope the pictures work! really crossing my fingers)

first one was for my dad for fathers day last year.
tasted divine and looked pretty too!
chocolate cake with buttercream frosting and chocolate ganache:

Mother's day cake (also from last year haha)
mom was on a "healthy" run like she gets sometimes but you can't not make a cake!
so i made carrot to pretend it was healthy  Wink
the frosty got crusty though yuck. not using that recipe again!

This one is mine hehe
made for myself since no one else wanted to  Sad
its chocolate peppermint cake with peppermint frosting and peppermint peppermints on top haha
you can sort of see where it got stabbed by the candles  Undecided

Last one!
made it with my sister - its just chocolate with frosting from a can...
and of course i had to go and write grooy instead of groovy so thats why the v is wonky
the colors were a lot lighter than we'd hoped but whatever that didn't compromise on the taste so i'm not complainin'!

peace!
