3841  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Oh YAY!!! Berkley's new collar!!! on: February 18, 2008 05:20:22 PM
CUUU-UUU-UUTE!  That pattern is the perfect scale for that collar!  How did you make it strong enough to hold up to leash pulling?  The ManFlesh's dog, who he claims is the most glamorous being on the planet, is BIG and it's impossible to find pretty collars for her.  My sewing machine is pretty dang tough, so I bet it could do layers and layers if that's what you've got there.  She's a water-loving lab-mix though (read "wallows in the mud puddle a the park every chance she gets), so I guess I'd have to consider stain-resistance and washablilty, huh?
3842  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / [ACCEPTED] That Needs A Cozy Challenge on: February 18, 2008 04:36:40 PM
Is it possible to have a multi-winner challenge?  I suppose it will take more kind donations to do a multi-winner challenge, but I'm just dyin' to see what people would come up with and have been pondering it for months.  I'd love to see what all the creative craftster could/would make cozies for.  There could be winners for several categories like "Best Cozy For Something That Now Seems Like It Should Have Had A Cozy All Along" and "Most- and Least Practical" "Most Dangerous" "If It Holds Still, I'll Cozy It", etc.

Thanks MrsBowles and brit0602!

The gift was delivered and I'm told prompted an impromptu line dance.  YEY!
3844  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Paper + Fabric Journal cover on: February 17, 2008 06:17:42 PM
Very cute!  I was just wondering what to do with all these 3-5" pieces of elastic.  Maybe not a journal cover, but this is a good inspiration point!
3845  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Beautiful Use Swap. Signups Closed. Sendouts 2/29/08. on: February 17, 2008 03:51:28 PM
Okay, okay!  I admit it!  I've used that hook to open a bottle of beer one time!  No more than two!  Three tops!  Never, ever on the job, though.  Seriously.

Some things are beautiful simply because they are so useful and become relied upon.  This is my 11-in-1 Painters' Tool.  I don't use it for all 11 of it's reported uses, but I use it for at least 8 all the time or at least more than once.  Wink

1. Opening paint cans
2. Closing paint cans
3. Scraping caulk, etc. off surfaces
4. Pre-cleaning paint rollers
5. Philips head screw installation and removal
6. Flat head screw installation and removal
7. Nail removal
8. Getting old whatever out of cracks
3847  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Biker Babe Shirt on: February 17, 2008 09:47:56 AM
That is so awesome in so many ways!  The image is cool, but because it's actually YOU it's even cooler.  The fact that you took a significant event in your life and turned it into a useful and appreciated gift for someone so significant in your life is pretty damn inspiring!  If I'd realized I could "enhance" myself through embroidery, I might have though of embroidering myself a long time ago! Wink

Those are great!!!   Cheesy What a funny gift!  Do you think your MIL and mom will use or display the potholders and towel??

My ex MIL told me that she's not using them, because she's displaying them.  My own mom is more into her accessories matching her kitchen, so I just made her hot pads (no towel).  I don't think they're on display, but she did take them to work to show off.

I'm making more today for a girlfriend for her birthday.

Here they are!  I think I've used each of the fellas on at least one thing now.  Wouldn't want to play favorites, you know.

Cute! Did she enjoy?

I just delivered them to The ManFlesh last night and his mom is out of town, so she hasn't received them.  He seems to think she will, hopefully he's right.
3850  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Brooklyn Bridge: Newsboys in NY II (image-heavy) on: February 17, 2008 09:34:59 AM
Another fantastic game!  I love all the layers of meaning and details.  Of course, it's lovely to behold, but the added attention to detail of Manhattan characters on one side and Brooklyn characters on the other is genius. I haven't seen the movie and these kinds of games aren't my thing to play, but I'd collect the ones you've been making and showing here if I was in the market for another collection.
