Another fun one! Great thinking on getting the swirls by taking advantage of the twisted wire!

As I like to say..."my daughter lives five thousand dollars away." Hahaha!
But this isn't about me. I love the phrase you used. Very understated and SO sweet. :'-)

Hahahaaa! Poor mama.  Sad

A seriously wonderful transformation!

Cool idea for a Mother's Day gift and you did a lovely job on the embroidery work (while I realize it's outside the scope/concept of this project, I think that a map of all 50 states, or even all the countries of the world, done in a similar style, would be epic).

Super cute, T. And while I love the idea of an embroidered world map, being the map freak that I am, with me in California and my daughter in Denmark...it really is that far.  Tongue But I might just go ahead and do it anyway. Denial ain't just a river in Egypt, right?

WELL DONE!! as usual, you sure do walk the craft walk, Baby!  Kiss

Aw, shucks.

Maybe you can come up with something more appropriate to write on yours or add an airplane or Skype window or something. Wink

Oh, wow! This is just great!  It's so wonderful that you found similar card holder hardware and library cards! GAH!  The condition adds to the charm, I can't imagine a card catalog really used in a library or office would be pristine.

And "Manflesh" is certainly an interesting way to refer to the male of the species.

I got the idea from a paper post card that has the 48 contiguous states on it and says the same thing. My friend embroidered a line from her place in California to my place in Montana!  So I am not the originator!

Thanks! My mom is taking it with her on her trip!
28  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Mother's Day / Embroidered Applique Hoodie for Mom on: May 04, 2015 07:54:01 AM
About 2.5 years ago, The ManFlesh and I moved from Oregon to Montana, leaving behind our families and friends.  Of course, our moms were probably hit the hardest; you know how moms are.   Kiss

I embroidered this for my mom, then appliqued it on a lightweight hoodie for her Mother's Day gift.

When The ManFlesh saw it, he asked if I would make one for his mom as well. Same pattern, different colors.

My mom is going to be traveling with friends over Mother's Day, so I mailed it to her early saying she could open it early, take it with her to open on Mother's Day, or open it when she gets home. She chose early and told me she "loves it, loves it, loves it" and that it made her so happy that she cried a little. Awwwwwwww.

Great yarn and fabric busting ideas!

The ambitiousness of those jeans gobsmacks me!
