thank you! some of the stitching is not so professional looking (i've handstitched many things before, and i think anyone who can actually do perfect handstitching is a genius), but i am pretty proud of how it turned out.

I originally devised this as a sort of slip cover for the standard case they are sending out w/ the new ipods (how long have they been doing that? my last one was a 3rd gen, when they were still sending out firewire cables & WALL CHARGERS .. so glad i kept mine).

instead, i ended up cutting the standard case into two pieces (front & back) and using it as interfacing/interior fabric. it's a very snug & kind of sturdy, smooth, seude-like fabric, so i'm glad that worked out.

velcro closure w/ a button for detail ... a spare for the interior buttons on my awesome blue peacoat, the background in these photos.

oh & the houndstooth fabric hardly cost anything. i bought like six 1/3 yards of dollar fabrics a few months ago, this was one of them.

handstitched because i didn't have a solid plan at first, which i prefer to have for machine sewing .. and it was just one of those days where i wanted something to work on while watching tv.

EDIT: hacked off the right corner so i can plug in my headphones:

yeah, that fabric is sweet. you should try a dress with it next, it looks like it'd be a great fabric for a summer dress.
9  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Re: SPRAY PAINT.. on: June 10, 2007 11:54:57 AM
i'd love to know about this too, if anyone has any tips .. i've got some shoes that could use some touch ups (beyond the help of shoe polish), but don't know the best way to go about it.

those are really neat! i'm an art major, so are most of my friends at college, and i'm thinking this would be a great gift idea for them come Christmas time.
