Yay, this swap is right up my current budget alley! I'm all approved now, so here are my five.

1. Cherry Blossoms
2. Computer Geek
3. Phoenix
4. Harry Potter (books, not movies)
5. Zombies

I'm totally digging checking out everyone else's lists (and reading about your facial hair fetishes).
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: What are you making for Christmas this year (2008)? on: December 06, 2008 11:41:49 PM
Uh-oh, once I finish reading all these ideas my list are going to change! Here is what I am (considering) making, since I got some great ideas from all of you!

Dad

Mom

Brother (30) - undecided

Sister-in-Law (30) - undecided

Sister (23)

Sister (21)
Niece (13)

Nephew (10) - no idea yet. :(

Niece (8)

Nephew (5) - probably something Star Wars themed

Nephew and Niece (2) - toddler messenger bags

So far for stocking stuffers I am planning sleep masks, crocheted bookmarks, and cell phone charms.

Gonna finish reading everyone else's idea's now!

I love it! It looks very professional.
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: One for Me, One for You Gallery on: August 30, 2008 10:47:33 PM
I forgot to bookmark this gallery! I came here to post the lunch tote Jinkies made me, and she already did! Good thing, too, 'cause her picture is much better than mine!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that lunch bag! She used one of my favorite color combos (teal and brown). I have that fabric she used...so you know I love it! I totally love the contrasting thread on the outside. And she lined everything with...something. Vinyl-y, but not. >.>

The utensil holder and placemat are so awesome too! The icing on a fabuloius cake. My sister started college this week and has been using the lunch tote. I made sure to let her know that she was BORROWING it, though! Cheesy

Your own bag rocks too, Jinkies! Great work!

Updating...

Partner 1: Jinkies
I received from Jinkies earlier this week, and am resizing and and uploading pictures now, to be posted in the gallery soon. I worked on her item all day today, and it is FINISHED! Mine is not done yet, but I will have it done in time.

Partner 2: summertimerolls
Summertimerolls is probably still rolling paper until her fingers bleed, poor thing! I sent her package yesterday (I haven't messages her or craftydeb yet, though - I will tomorrow when I find the DC. Oops.) Mine is almost done - I have about 1/2 hour left of work to do on it.

Back to editing pictures of the awesome lunch tote Jinkies sent me. Y'all are gonna be jealous!
6  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Sewing Kit Swap (*Signups closed* Mail by 08/01/08) on: August 25, 2008 07:25:34 AM
Sorry it took so long to post pictures! I took the pictures while ago, it was getting them off the camera I had trouble with.

Take a look at all the great stuff I got from hotgluegert!

Here's the box/kit. She used some red fabric with awesome gold sparkly swirlies on it.

The loot! She packed it, woohoo! Tape measure, scissors, safety pins, needle threaders, a thimble, buttons, fabric, pin cushion, probably other stuff I forgot to mention... Oh yeah, a seam ripper that will be in none of the pictures because I've already used it a lot and forgot to put it back. :p

She decorated this little sewing kit for me too!

This tape measure is so cute!

AWESOME pin cushion! He is very cute. His legs and head are made of clay (maybe) and his body is felt.

Buttons! There was another set too, of brass hearts, but I can't find that picture right now. My sister has claimed one of the flowers as the zipper pull for her sweatshirt (Is that what those are supposed to be? I have no idea).

I love everything! The tape measure, pin cushion, seam ripper, and scissors have already been used quite a bit. Especially the seam ripper. Cheesy

Thanks hotgluegert!

Wow, it's a wonder you aren't blind yet! That is the cutest lil' cherry blossom I ever did see! I sooo want to try paper quilling - yours are fabulous!

Just checking in; I haven't posted in awhile. This is now my only swap, and I have all my materials, so I am READY! I can start tomorrow now. I'm going to do mine first, so my partner gets the good ones and I keep the mess I always make the first time around. Cheesy

I received from zombiekilla yesterday! She made me THE most awesome Shrinky Dink necklace! Sorry these pictures suck; they don't do justice to her work!

First, the totally awesome tin the necklace came in! I'm slightly obsessed with cherry blossoms, so she decorated it with Shrinky Dink blossoms on clay (I think) branch.

Here's a closeup of one of the blossoms. It's so nicely drawn!

Here's the actual necklace. It is sooo pretty! My name is written in the most gorgeous writing (I am so jealous!). I love swirlies, and the branches swirl all over the place. The cherry blossoms are awesome! And, there is one rhinestone to add a little zing to it.

Just as bad of a picture, but a slightly better angle. Man, I need to make a diffused light box!

Thank you so much, zombiekilla! I LOVE it!
