I'm making a quilt out of Threadless tees, and now that I've got the top pieced together (just have to add the border), I really need to figure out what to do about the inside!
Here's the quilt so far:
Each square is 10"x10", and because the squares all have different printed patterns, I don't want the quilting stitches to be prominent or complicated. I was thinking about stitching in the ditch (would require batting that would allow quilting up to 10" apart), or maybe quilting on each side of the seams (in that case, I guess I'd have to get a quilting foot?).
I'll be doing machine quilting (I've got a Pfaff with a walking foot).
My problem is that I want low loft batting, but I'm having trouble finding low lofts that are for machine/all-purpose quilting and can be quilted far apart.
Sometimes the package doesn't even specify how far apart it needs to be quilted - any ideas on what the guidelines are for unspecified quilting?
I'm also looking for something that can be machine washed regularly. I'm flexible on whether the batting is cotton or synthetic.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
