1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Suggestions for scrapbook layout? (a bit photo heavy) on: May 13, 2010 01:49:07 PM
I'm currently working on my Spain and France album, and I've gotten to pictures of flamenco dancers. The colors in teh room were really bright and vibrant, and I wanted to reflect that in the papers that I used...but I'm not really a "bright colors" person, which is why its been difficult to figure out if what I've been doing looks any good...

I really like the colors and abstractness of this paper, but it probably needs something else...

On this page I've ripped up strips of different color paper to use as a background. I also like the idea, but it doesn't seem to match well with the first page, and I'm not sure if the combination of colors and patterns works very well.

Any ideas??
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Best way to attach metal to metal? on: March 20, 2010 05:46:04 PM
I'd like to try my hand at making some steampunk-ish jewelry, but the style pretty much dictates attaching random objects together - mostly metal.

Some sites say to solder, others to use a torch...and it depends on the type of metal too? I'd jsut be using random found bits to practice, but don't even know if you can attach different types of metal to each other?

Thanks Smiley
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Halloween costume - help! on: October 23, 2009 10:05:53 AM
I'm going to be a dead bride for Halloween, but every dress I was going to get on ebay or everywhere elose has fallen through, and my husband has refused to let me spend a ton of money to get a nicer one...

I'm not a seamstress, nor do I have a sewing machine. I did find some ideas for sheet or tablecloth wedding dresses in The Worst Case Survival Scenerio: Weddings Smiley but I'm not totally sure that I can pull this off...

I have some basic sewing skills with needle and thread. I'm also a pretty good knitter, though its certainly too late to knit anything now! Does anyone have any ideas to make a decent-looking sheet dress or something??
