1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Zipper Brooches on: January 06, 2009 04:56:08 AM
These are beautiful. I was looking for a zip based project having just inherited a huge bag of uninspiring zip. Are they sewn together or glued?

3  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Innocent smoothie/age concern uk Big Knit KAL (mini Hats) on: September 06, 2007 12:46:03 AM
I was at a knitting circle event on Tuesday and they had an Age Concern chap there and he explained the hats! They are to raise awareness of fuel poverty and the troubles older people have keeping warm in the winter when they don't have enough money to heat their homes properly.

We knitted over 101 hats at the group with loads of other people joining in many who had never knitted before. Including some very confused bar staff at the cafe/bar the group meets in!!

My crafty housemate and I are making hats as part of our knitting circle. Rather than collecting them in a bag until we send them off they are currently keeping every condiment, and suitably sized bottle warm!

I have yet to get round to pom-poms but have to agree that these are certainly stash busters and instant gratification with no guilt. However trying to explain to colleague as to *why* I am making hats for drinks is getting a little waring!!!!
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Cold Feet and however long it takes ya! Tutorial added! on: July 20, 2007 02:25:30 AM
I tried these last night and ended up with pointy witch slippers  Cry (though cool in their own way not the adorable shoes I wanted.) I think I got the first part of the toes wrong. I have to admit to being lame at reading crochet patterns and ended up crocheting a circle.

Help Please!!!

Pretty, will there be a tutorial?
7  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Fimo hook! on: July 12, 2007 03:31:05 AM
Lovely job.

I tried this recently and was very happy at the results. They are so much comfier to work with. It has made my tension much looser which was great. I am a tense crocheter. It was so easy to. I have many plans to create similar for crochet inclined friends.

I used this fabulous glittery fimo which cheers me up when I am hooking!

Very nice, I like the castle style edging at the bottom. Is the net/mesh at the top part of the dress or the corset?
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: 108 Painted Coasters Later... on: July 11, 2007 03:16:52 AM
I love the magnetic strip, I have been considering this for a while but my husband talked me out of it by trying to persuade me all of my sissors might not be magnetisable! Thank you for proving me right  Grin
